An eternal remix of the self.
From project file to listener.
The purge. Just hit publish.

Out now via Bandcamp and streaming services, Total Care closes out my trilogy of sprawling self-released albums, following Mastered (2020) and The Prodigy (2022). It’s a mammoth 60 track, 3 hour double album, containing around 100 sample fragments and many motifs from my previous work.

Recorded between 2013 and 2026, the album primarily draws from my year-long process of releasing one track every week. It’s a living, diaristic archive that marks the end of this freewheeling approach to making music.

Total Care blurs the lines between studio album, mixtape and compilation, capturing the spirit of an expansive DJ set. Most of the tracks were recorded live in one take and barely arranged or altered. Minimal intervention. Flittering between headphone and club music, performance and plunderphonics, experimental and pop, digital and organic ephemera. Ideas are explored, discarded, reworked and returned to.

The album is available on a limited edition engraved alloy USB drive - the very same object depicted on the cover art. You can also wear Total Care on a heavyweight t-shirt. For maximum protection, we have the Total Condom and Toothbrush Care Package.

Total Care is a mindset and a manifesto.

Chuffed to announce we have been nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the Sydney Music & Culture Awards as well as Best Electronic Artist at the South Australian Music Awards. That’s so bi-coastal! The public can vote for all of these through @fbiradio and @thenotemagsa.

We’ve always been the bridesmaids but never the bride when it comes to music awards, and this is our last chance to feel deeply acknowledged by our respective states. You know what to do. taken in Award-winning by @collarbonesband

Our good friend and 12-string guitar genius @juliareidy has made the most devastatingly gorgeous cover of Ripe for Filth. The most moving gift we maybe have ever received. You can grab it from their Bandcamp. Collarbones forever! by @collarbonesband

We are officially kaput and played our last ever show over the weekend. We couldn’t be more grateful.

We’ll continue to share updates and nostalgia here when we feel like it, but follow @marcuswhaleinlandsea and @iwontallowit on Insta to keep track of our sprawling solo pursuits. Collarbones forever.

We won the triple j unearthed slot and played the Adelaide leg of Parklife festival in 2011, sneaking a bunch of friends in as choreographed backing dancers.

We played before Kimbra and then Travis met Diplo and Death From Above 1979/MSTRKRFT at the after party.

Diplo was typing on his Blackberry all night. Typical! MSTRKRFT said Travis looked like an Olympic runner in that jacket.

Our last ever show is on Kaurna land, tomorrow night! Limited capacity. Tickets via collarbonesband.tumblr.com. taken in Botanic Park by @collarbonesband
