That’s a wrap on the @filmablesociety X @collective_bunch Spotlight Party 🪩

Vancouver, you turned up and turned it out last night. We packed the house!! Everyone was there and everyone looked - say it with us - snazzy as heck! Thank you for coming and making this, once again, one for the books.

What a way to end a busy few weeks of films, panels and networking.

Thank you of course to @viffest for making this event such an integral part of the festival. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Thanks also to the amazing staff and performers at @birdhouseartspace. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue!!

To our wonderful volunteers who stuck it out until the bitter end - we love you!

And, of course, our incredible sponsors, without whom this would all be a dream:

@bcfilmcommission
@pacificbacklot
@vancouverfilmstudios
@signalsystemsinc
@rawcameraco
@creativebcs
@elementalpost
@vancouverpostalliance
@alteregopost
@chunkschunkschunks

The future of film is in Vancouver.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Filmable Fellowship, created in partnership with Collective Bunch. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻

This mentorship and development program is designed to support storytellers, featuring two distinct mentorship streams:

PRODUCTION STREAM 🎥

For the craftspeople who build the world of a film from the ground up. Cinematographers, production designers, editors, ADs, production managers, costumers, and other key crew will be paired one-on-one with veteran mentors to hone their artistry and grow their careers.

FEATURE STREAM 🎞️

For bold, ambitious filmmakers developing their first or second feature film—directors, writers, and creative producers with a strong point of view who are ready to be championed as they take their careers to the next level.

👉 Join us in building the next wave of cinema from BC.

Applications are open through Sunday Sept 21, 2025 @ 11:59 pm PT.

Apply at https://filmable.ca/

This project has been made possible [in part] by the Government of Canada.

Introducing: Danny So-Chea!

“Collective Bunch is an important platform to showcase the diversity in the BIPOC community that is often misrepresented and stereotyped in film. We all have stories that have made us who we are and it's time that some light is shed and these stories come to life. Vancouver being Hollywood North has a huge opportunity to change the narrative with [BIPOC] creatives trying to push the boundaries and be on an equal platform as everyone else. In an industry and city booming as much as it is here, it's our time to shine now.” - Danny So-Chea

Danny works as an actor, model, stunt person, painter and photographer. So glad to have you in the Bunch, Danny! by @collective_bunch
