a re-introduction & a departure 👋🏽

i used to feel so connected and nourished on instagram but these days it leaves me feeling drained and dysregulated more often than not

let this be your reminder that you have the power to live life how you please - whether that's getting TF off this app, breaking up with urgency culture or identities that no longer fit, following the passion that makes you feel alive or honoring the intuitive nudge that's stayed consistent since 2021

you can find me out in the woods with the trees, putting my hands in the sand, jumping in the pacific, in your inbox through the newsletter or your ears through the podcast

as of now, im planning on keeping the link in bio up to date for events & offerings too

see you off the grid ❤️‍🔥👋🏽🌈 by @collectively__well

spending one hour a day on social media equates to more than one year of your life spent scrolling. and i just learned that 50% of content on the internet is now AI-generated, with the number expected to go up to 90% by 2027.

i wrote this list at the beginning of 2025 and have been taking periodic monthly digital detoxes ever since. the time off would bring me back to myself and then i would get back on and restart the cycle of disconnection and dysregulation. that model works for a lot of people, it just didn't for me.

is social media the root cause of my struggle? of course not. but it's the most consistent barrier to presence, depth, processing and living intentionally - the most powerful supports i know of within myself and my relationships.

life is so fcking magical when we're actually living it with each other. consider this your reminder that you can always re-orient your relationship to the people, places and things that disconnect you from living as your fullest self.

if you are curious about getting off social media, check the link in bio for the digital detoxes. they're a great reset or an ease out of this mess. by @collectively__well

this episode feels like a refreshing jump in the pacific followed by a warm cup of herbal tea for anyone trying to balance eastern, western and indigenous healing modalities - personally or professionally.

ray takis is a reiki master, somatic therapist, yoga teacher, breath facilitator and the creator of misfit medicine. she also happens to be my partner.

we talk about the overlap between modern wellness & earth based healing (spoiler: its all ancestral), what it means to honor your lineage and what it means to be a bridge in the revolution.

come for the wisdom, stay for ray's freestyle rap.

this is also our last IG post for the foreseeable future! and our last episode until we're back to wrap up season one of collectively well enough this fall.

this work can been so unbelievably life changing. of course i've experienced it first hand but i've also witnessed profound shifts - large & small - in the people who continue to show up for it too.

living from an embodied place is simple but it sure isn't easy in the world we live in. but it's a powerful path to aliveness, healing, & growth. and i believe it's how we show up for each other, build dynamic relationships and build a world that we don't need to numb out from.

the link in bio should have everything you need to book a session or learn more. signing up for the newsletter is always the best bet in the event i stop updating it once i'm off social media.

applying for a container isn't to make it exclusive, either. it's to ensure i feel confident in being able to show up for you in the ways you need. if i'm not, i always refer you to someone else. by @collectively__well

halloween at google in new york was a big deal, people went all out.

i personally had zero access to my creative energy to plan a costume nor did i even consider what day it was between snoozing my alarm and rushing out the door.

one year on 10/31 i happened to wear a turtle neck to work and someone asked if i was dressed as steve jobs.

anyways, he absolutely is not the inspiration for this photo.

i do this work for that version of me who needed to take 15-20 deep breaths and learn how to chill
TF out somewhere other than happy hour.

i know this isn't linkedin but i'd love to support your team with a workshop, series, coaching or keynote. plenty more stories where that one came from.

as always, link in bio to learn more. by @collectively__well

what they said.

but actually, it's an honor and a privilege to do this work. i have so much love all of the people i get the gift of supporting, in a totally boundaried and ethical way. witnessing their transformations and holding space for them to breathe life into their power is mutual medicine.

and also, everyone experiences it differently. to some, it's more impactful than therapy. to others, it's a deep restorative nap. only one way to find out how it feels for you.

thank you for trusting me. thank you for showing up for yourself. thank you for showing up for the collective through your healing. by @collectively__well

if you feel nourished and recharged after spending time on social media, i love that for you.

and if you don't, that makes sense too. you are not alone. it's engineered to drain us.

and it's so easy to feel like "everyone is on social media" and believe the stories that we "need" to be on here.

sure, some people might. but most of us don't.

taking intentional time away from the addictive patterns and doomscrolling is a game changer for your wellbeing. this program brings you back into your body and realigns you with your values.

your life is yours, live it how you please.

it's beautiful that the healing industry provides so many pathways for people to learn and share modalities that can change people's lives. academia and licensing isn't always accessible - financially energetically. there's nothing like burning out a practitioner before they start than my expecting them to work for free just to be validated in their profession.

and also, it's important to know who you're working with and what trainings they're taken. the unregulated nature of the industry leaves serious gaps in a lot of training programs - especially around ethics, boundaries and the energetic aspects of the work.

not to mention, all the credentials in the world don't matter if you're not embodying your own practices and alchemizing your lived experience.

it all matters and i will quite literally never stop learning and growing as a practitioner. by @collectively__well

once a month, we gather over zoom to drop into the breath and give our brains a break.

it's a low stakes space for folks who want space to ~just be~ amidst all the noise.

it's an ideal place to start if you're curious about breathwork and tends to be a haven for folks to come back to their practices and themselves.

camera on or off, share with the group or sit back & witness, and come and go as you please. recording shared after if you can't make it live.

check the link in bio to sign up for the next session or better yet, get the weekly slow down in your inbox to stay up to date now that we're off the grid. by @collectively__well

this episode comes right in time for us to get off of social media.

shannon sits down with amelia hruby - host of off the grid podcast - to chat all things leaving social media. amelia left the platform in 2021 and has since grown a mutually flourishing business + community supporting people in building creative ecosystems + businesses without the platform.

the conversations has range - moving through the ancestral resources that support amelia's work, the self trust that comes from getting off the platform, the systemic reason why it's so challenging to step away from social media and why shannon is getting off the platform.

tune in wherever you listen to podcasts and don't forget to subscribe to the show on substack to get up to date on the latest episodes once we are off the grid too! by @collectively__well

an end of an era!

i could've just sent some emails and done this quietly, but it feels important to "fail"
out loud sometimes.

but this isn't failure, it's a prioritization of wellbeing and genuine connection by choosing the change that creates space for depth, healing & authenticity - what we've been about all along.

even though off grid's membership is over, collectively well is still here for you and here with you.

whether you drop in with us on the podcast, the newsletter, with a digital detox or out in san diego - we're excited for the magic that's bound to come from the change.

to all the off grid members, thank you and i'll still see you soon! you are what makes collectively well what it it.
