🙏🏽 SUNDAY REFLECTION OCTOBER 11th🙏🏽
I’m learning that OUTCOMES BELONG TO GOD, BUT REACTIONS BELONG TO ME. ❤️ and I can Surrender my “Reactions to GOD”. I’m working really hard at not allowing disappointment to decide my whole day. 🙏🏾✊🏽
I can’t determine whether people will be faithful. I can’t control whether people will respond favorably to me, treat me fairly, kind w/respect or show up the way I hoped they would. I cannot live my life trying to control every outcome…
BUT… I CAN CONTROL HOW I RESPOND. 😇
I can choose Peace over Anger & Sadness, Faith over Fear, and Prayer🙏🏾 over Worry.
I Can stop 🛑 looking to people for answers that only GOD can provide.
I can lean more into GOD, Trust His timing, & Believe that even when I don’t understand what’s happening… He is still in control.

📖 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

GOD, HELP ME RELEASE WHAT I CANNOT CONTROL, ACCEPT WHAT I CANNOT CHANGE, & TRUST YOU WITH WHAT I CANNOT SEE. 🙏🏽

We walked for Sal and Will. We remembered Sal today on the third anniversary of his death 10/3/2023. (3rd pic from September 2022.

One day, an ordinary afternoon with your mom might become a memory you wish you could step back into.

Take the pictures. Ask about her life before you. Let her tell the story you’ve heard a hundred times. Make her breakfast, hold her hand, and tell her what she means to you.

You don’t need a special occasion to give her your time. A cup of tea and your full attention can be a beautiful place to start. 🤍

You have created a space where other community leaders like @collettevsmith , @koryc__ and @riseprojectnyc, Dr Kim Watson- Benjamin and many more can come together and bridge the gap to provide support.

Sisters in Purple is a Harlem based nonprofit, survivor led organization founded in 2020 to support individuals and families affected by domestic violence, community violence and injustice

M.I.N.E is a non profit serving NYC that helps bridge the gap in healing services for survivors through our Strength Embodied program.

This free nine week program teaches survivors strength training fundamentals so that they may use weightlifting as a form of health, healing, and community. by @collettevsmith

Today at NYC City Hall, I stood w/my “SISTERS In PURPLE” to use the POWER of our Voices to end Domestic Violence! 💜😇
As a survivor of DV, I personally know this fight.
My Journey may have changed me, but it will NEVER Silence me! 💪🏽✊🏽
I will continue to use my voice to help others find theirs. 💜
It takes a VILLAGE. It takes a COMMUNITY. It takes ALL OF US to Speak Up, Stand Up for the Voiceless, SAVE LIVES, and STOP THE VIOLENCE.

Even my girl Zuri 🐶 came out to support! 🐾💜 💟 💜
Our voices matter. Our lives matter. WE MATTER.
