Rolex Submariner and NDC “Heart of the Beast” strap with Gunner

The whole movie made me think about how short the time is with these amazing dogs. I’m truly blessed that Gunner gets to come to work with me on duty as a Therapy Dog. We aren’t away from each other very often and I can’t be happier that we get to hang out all the time. At 5 Gunner is nearing about half his life as a Malinois and those past 5 years since we’ve had him have flown by.

Cheers to the dogs we have in our lives that make everything better 🍻 🦴 🦴 Go out and see the movie too.

The Rolex book from Costco.

I thought this was fake originally but I went in for Fresh Pet dog food and bought three books. One for my AD, the other for my coworker and one for myself.

If you see one, don’t even think, just buy it haha

it goes over some of the history and some of the different models Rolex makes. Great pictures and information to nerd out on.

SOTC Oct 2026

The last three slides are from my SOTC in January 2026

This is almost my whole collection. I’m missing the Casio F91W, my other DW9052, and the Benrus Type 2 I loaned to my buddy for his first deployment.

There isn’t a lot of change from this update. I added a Doxa and a Bremont. I sold a Seamaster (tough, but I didn’t wear it enough) and added the watches my grandfather passed down to me; hint: they’re the gold watches. He’s still very busy working in his wood shop at 92 years old. I tried to add all the G-Shocks too, but they are hard to lay flat, so I had to prop them up as best I could. As for the mechanicals, I’ve worn a few of these watches to weddings or in weddings. I wore the Speedmaster when I got married over 8 years ago. I’ll never sell that one.

I got the Spinnaker at the top right when I first started the Coloradguy IG and the Sternglas around that time when my page started getting some traction. I like that Sternglas; it’s different than anything in my collection.

The GMT is my favorite and one that I was after for several years. I got it as a promotion gift in 2025. I’m so fortunate to have that one in my collection. The Submariner is another great watch, probably the diver that gets the most compliments on IG and in public.

I like the Seamaster and have owned that one for about 8 years. I’ve been all over the world with that watch and wore it on my last day in the Navy Reserve.

I got my ass kicked at work from 2020-2021 due to everything going on and took a brief hiatus from IG. I kept collecting and nerding out on watches but wasn’t keeping up with anything on IG.

I started posting again in 2023 I think and I still nerd out on watches and the Costco Rolex book for the past few days.

Let me know what I’m missing in the comments; I know there’s another watch I could get to make it more complete. I’ve heard Marathon and Seiko 6306/6309, but I know there’s a lot out there. I’m waiting on the Sangin Corpsman Project too.

Imperial Watch Co. Oceanguard GMT

Imperial reached out to see if I wanted to review one of their watches, so here are my thoughts.

First of all, I’m not a watch expert, and I don’t review watches because, honestly, who really cares what I have to say?

Secondly, I’m not getting paid, and I won’t be keeping the watch, so take this review as you see fit.

I traditionally don’t wear watches smaller than 38mm. I have a 7.3” wrist, and I personally don’t like smaller watches on my wrist. That said, I think this watch wears slightly larger than a few other 38mm watches I’ve tried on. The jubilee bracelet is comfortable, as expected.

I like the Jubilee bracelet paired with the “root beer” color scheme and the touch of gilt that gives it a slightly aged look. It has a nice dial, and I like the indices, too.

My short-term impression is that this is a good watch, especially if you’re considering adding a GMT to your collection.

I wish there had been more microbrands available when I first started collecting. Back then, I had my Seikos, Casios, Timex, and G-Shocks. I think this watch and company do a good job of bridging the gap between a starter watch and stepping into the $2,000–$5,000 watch market.

I won’t have this watch long enough to give it a proper long-term review, but it uses the reliable Seiko NH34 movement, which is relatively easy to maintain and has a solid track record.

One thing I really like is the domed crystal. It catches the light beautifully when you see it in person, and it looks great in some of the photos, too.

Overall, I like the watch, but I’m not a fan of the 38mm size for my wrist (and it’s not even the biggest wrist out there!). I hope Imperial offers a 40–42mm case size in the future as another option.

Omega Seamaster Professional 300

A few reflective photos and a few without. Sometimes you get a nice reflection off the dial and sometimes the crystal. In some of the photos you can see all the wear I’ve put on the watch and bracelet, those are my favorite.

Doxa Army Watches of Switzerland Edition

This watch is 1 of 100 made and I like how it is all blacked out. I think it suits the watch even better. It’s a nice homage to the original Doxa Army watches from 50 years ago.

I had a good bike ride with the family yesterday, including my niece who crushed 13 miles on a small mountain bike like it was nothing.

My wife and I followed that with a date night at an infamous Italian restaurant in Denver that I really like to dine at. I hope you all made the most of this weekend too.

Throwback Thursday to one of my favorite watch posts I’ve ever posted. A Flatlay on my old NWUs and a look at my SOTC. It’s changed slightly; one of my watches is loaned out to a buddy who is deployed and I sold a few of the watches I don’t wear enough. I got the idea for a post like this from Watches Win Wars and a few of the other people I talk to on IG.

I need to do another State of the Collection post but I’ll add the others I haven’t included in the past.
