I've been working on this on and off for quite a while. It's not done done, but I think if I try to 'perfect' it, I will just ruin it.

So I decided to stop here, take my learnings and apply it to my next portrait.

I've always been intimidated to do hair, but I learned a lot from this drawing and am excited to try more techniques.

Another important lesson I learned is I have to be gentle and take good care not to mess up the paper. 😅 Ugh, those spots bother the heck out of me.😭

My draft/WIP doesnt look good like other's do. 😅 Maybe I can improve on that too so I can do WIP posts too.

It's hard to choose a model, but I chose Jin because my friend is a fan, and I wanted to gift it to her if it turned out okay. 🥰

I also went to the trouble of doing an image search of my drawing and asked AI who it is. 😂 The AI did recognize who it is correctly and I felt validated. 😅🙈

I do hope I can find time to do more drawings. I didn't realized how much I missed it until I picked it up again. 🥺

My first Oda Agda, and This Book Belongs To page.

It's been sitting unfinished for quite a while (was supposed to be for a buddy color). And yesterday, I decided to finally finish it. 😊

Sharing the references I used for this page.

When using references, it doesn't have to be an exact copy.
You can reference the colors or tones of colors used, the way the colors blend or work together, how the lights and shadows work, what the vibes or aesthetics is, and let that guide how you color your page.

My pages are often close to realism, so I've been looking for whimsical, quirky, and surreal references to help break out of that box.

Disclaimer: This doesn't mean my style will drastically change or improve.

My goal is to become a better artist, to draw better and easier, using basic fundamentals. I know that it will take time and a lot of practicing, but it's something that I'm actively working towards. And I hope it will become evident on my future coloring pages.

My BGII09 nearly died! 😂

It feels so good to finally be inspired enough to color adventurously again. I missed using my markers, acrylic pens, colored pencils, charcoal pencils and soft pastels on a single page. 🥰

My first time putting markers on paper for a while. With everything that's happening, it felt overwhelming to sit on my table and color.

This book finally brought me back. It was perfect to just play with colors and not be overwhelmed.

The middle one in the second row was colored last and doesn't go with the vibes of the rest. 😂

Struggling with coloring faces? Here's a simple guide on where to put shadows and higlights to make the face look more alive.

There are times though when you cant put in too much details on a face, specially when it's too small. But still try to follow putting shadows and hightlights on places that are most noticeable/visible.

I hope this helps!

P.S. I didnt include details about coloring the eyes and lips on this.

Finally finished this. I spent too much time working on the face. 😅

Got inspired by @gabywicksworld 's twinkling lights, so I made the bokeh background change.

I'm still learning and figuring out how to use CSP. But it's not as overwhelming as it used to be.
