Best part of pictures like this is taking off the washi tape 🤣. Hope you guys like it! Will post colors I’ve used tomorrow along with some still pictures.

Sometimes thinking of colors and how they will work together or even if they will work together can be overwhelming. I often color only a little at a time because I spend so much time overthinking 🤣. And other times my lovely kids are crazy distractions 😆.

I love these little alien like leaves. And for those of you who love them too I’ve figured out all the colors for you! When I finally finish the picture, (usually piece by piece 🤣) I have also started posting a step by step carousel of pictures demonstrating what colors you will need for each part of the picture.

If you can’t wait because the leaves are calling to you too loudly comment or DM me and I’ll send them to you 🤣.

Apologies for the terrible lighting. Just couldn’t get it right today 🤷🏽‍♀️

It started with a color palette… and somehow turned into this! 🏡💜✨

I was testing out some colors for one of the illustrations in my new coloring bundle, launching October 16th on Etsy! 🎨

But then I picked up Johanna Basford’s Inklings, found this adorable little cottage, and well… one thing led to another! 😂💕

What was supposed to be a quick little palette test turned into a full coloring session, and I’m absolutely in love with how these colors came together!

Now I’m even more excited to try this palette on one of my own whimsical illustrations! ✨

Sometimes the best coloring moments are the ones you didn’t plan. 🥰

No regrets though, because I’m LOVING how these colors came together!

And yes… my very first colouring bundle is coming to Etsy on October 16th! 🥹💕 So excited to finally share it with you!

A little more Strawberry Cottage magic 🍓🏡✨

I had so much fun bringing this whimsical little world to life! From the deep midnight blues to the rich strawberry reds, every little detail was such a joy to color. 💙❤️

And the exciting part? You’ll soon be able to color it your own way!

Strawberry Cottage will be included in my very first collection of 5 printable coloring pages, launching on Etsy October 16th! 🎨💕

I can’t wait to see what colors you choose!

✨ Strawberry Cottage is finally finished! 🍓💙

I decided to step outside my usual color palette for this one, and I’m so happy I did!

Deep midnight blues, burgundy strawberries, purple flowers, and just a little touch of gold. ✨

The background alone took me around three hours to create with colored pencils, but watching that beautiful blue fade into white made every minute worth it.

And some exciting news… 🥹

My very first collection of 5 printable coloring pages is coming to Etsy on October 16th! 🎉

I can’t wait to share these illustrations with you and see how you bring them to life with your own colors!

Would you have chosen this midnight-blue palette, or something completely different? 💕

🍓 A little Strawberry Cottage progress update 🍓

Slowly bringing this page to life, one tiny leaf, flower and strawberry at a time. 💜🌿

I’m having so much fun with this color palette — especially the mix of deep blues, greens and lavender. And those little red strawberries are finally starting to pop. 🍓

Still lots left to colour, but I wanted to share where we’re at so far.

What should I colour next — the cottage, the bows, or the jam jars? 👀

I really should’ve called this a mini mini tutorial because it’s not very detailed at all for what I wanted to share with you guys! I think I will be doing a longer form reel to really give you guys an idea of how to build the layers up that you need and add the shadows and the highlights that you need to create that depth that a lot of people want in their coloring.

Anyway I hope this was a good start to giving you an idea of how to start. What you guys need is at least three shades of whatever color that you’ve chosen for your leaf or flower. So there should be a darker color and a lighter color and then ultimately you want to slowly build some layers with the darker shades while creating those shadows in the places that you would see as darker so really in the corners depending on where you consider your light source from. Then you want to highlight with your lightest where it should be light and thats really going to give your picture that three-dimensional look that you want.

Big thank you to @giselle_love133 for asking the question! Hope this helps!
