POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Very happy to announce our forthcoming release by young emerging local talent from home in Naarm/ Melbourne - @coloursoundfm 💫

New World’ is the first release from Coloursound , a record presenting four unconventional dance floor tracks that bridge future-facing dubstep to warped techno and everything in between.

The EP is an expansive sonic landscape woven together by delicate layers of bass wobbles, chugging percussion and spaced out atmospheres. Across the EP, ethereal textures and mutilated vocals lapse between one another, rooted in dub-influenced foundations, but with a futuristic twist.

Coloursound is setting a new blueprint for rhythmic experimentation with respectful nods to the history of the vast range of genres that have influenced his sound. A versatile release divinely timed to soundtrack the imminent northern hemisphere’s summer solstice.

Produced by Will Landman @coloursoundfm (Melbourne/Naarm, Australia)
Title: New World
Format: 12”/ Digi
Distributed by: @clone.nl (Rotterdam, NL)
Sleeve Design by @wnsalu (Melboume/Naarm, Australia)
Mastered by @coreykikos aka The Herbalist (Melbourne/Naarm, Australia)

Animalia would like to acknowledge that all tracks were produced on the traditional land of the Woiwurrung & Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay respect to their Elders past, and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Preorder via our Bandcamp, clone & stores worldwide. Out July 6th. by @coloursoundfm

Our headliner next Friday lands at Angel fresh from his release, New World, on Kia’s @animalialabel — a record of vapour drums and dub, echoing wub & thump, metallic flickers, alien pads and bass that seems to arrive from several planets away.

Minimal techno skeletons stretch out into psytrance propulsion, post-punk greyness dissolves into soft-focus ambience, and the kind of genre-blurring that feels less like “fusion” and more like several little ecosystems coexisting and carefully moulded into something otherworldly but still very human.

Will’s Coloursound project is old selves merging to the most instinctive self yet, meticulously designed, spacious enough to float in and detailed enough to get lost inside.

Please mind the atmospheric pressure on your way in.

“It didn’t really make sense to me why I was drawn to these different sounds, so I struggled a little with my identity as an artist. Eventually, I have come to realise that this is virtually the work, knowing how you stand within the world and being able to articulate how you got there. Music is just the by-product of that,” @coloursoundfm shares.

Writer @edie.hopgood speaks with the producer fresh off the back of his @animalialabel-released debut, ‘New World’.
