L’ART POUR L’ART BY COLT. Our latest collection takes its name from the French phrase meaning ‘art for art’s sake’ — the idea that art doesn't need to serve a practical or commercial purpose to justify its existence. For this collection, we explored the idea through clothing, music, art and dance by working with creatives from across the North of England. Here, we introduce Katherine Ochoa Lipiz. Born in Cuba and now a First Soloist at Birmingham Royal Ballet, Katherine has dedicated her life to the pursuit of perfection through dance since the age of four. Her story reflects the very idea behind this collection: that art is as much about the enjoyment of creating as it is about the finished product, and the freedom to pursue something simply for the love of it. COLT IS NOW LIVE ON ASOS. We’re very happy to announce that, going forward, Colt will continue to be available on our site with selected pieces from each collection also available on ASOS. Our own website will remain the home of Colt and the main place for our collections, limited releases and everything we do as a brand. ASOS simply gives us the opportunity to make Colt more accessible to more people, in more places. For our European customers in particular, this is a huge step forward. Colt orders placed through ASOS in mainland Europe will be shipped from Germany, meaning no additional customs fees or import taxes, while UK and EU customers will also be able to take advantage of next-day delivery on eligible Colt items through ASOS. I started Colt a little over three years ago with the idea of building something distinctive from Manchester, combining British streetwear and workwear with our interpretation of Americana. The fact that I now get to call this my job makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world. I’m genuinely living my dream, and seeing Colt sitting alongside some of the biggest brands in the world on ASOS feels pretty surreal.
