Most movie theaters outside of New York City can reopen TOMORROW, October 23rd.

The theaters must open at 25% capacity and there can be no more than 50 people in front of each movie screen.

Tomorrow the 2020 CEDC Annual Meeting is going virtual!

Traditionally held in late April at Kozel's Restaurant in Ghent, NY. The CEDC Annual Meeting is considered the premier economic development event of the year as Columbia County community and business leaders come together to celebrate the people and projects that make our communities thrive.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are hosting the 2020 Annual Meeting online via Zoom. The program includes several speakers ready to share their economic development perspectives, review last year's accomplishments and take a look at what's ahead in 2020.

▪️What are Hudson Bonds?
A community-based way to help Hudson's small independent businesses most affected by the pandemic.

Hudson Bonds help our small businesses in two important ways:

▫️They provide much-needed grants to help businesses make ends meet as an outcome of the shutdown.
▫️They provide a base of new sales once it’s safe for them to reopen—giving them a leg up when they need it most.

▪️How do the Hudson Bonds work?
Part Donation. Part Redeemable Voucher.

As a donor, you purchase a Bond for 2x the face amount. Half of your donation is a tax-deductible contribution to the Hudson Small Business Relief Fund. The other half (in the form of a beautiful Hudson Bond) is yours to spend at a participating business through July 31, 2021. Columbia Economic Development Corporation is the Fiscal Agent for the Hudson Bond program.

Casinos Allowed to Reopen with Limited Capacity

Casinos and video lottery terminal facilities will be allowed to reopen starting September 9 with a 25 percent occupancy limit. All venues that choose to reopen will be subject to strict safety protocols, including strict enforcement of face coverings except when eating or drinking, social distancing, additional staff to control occupancy, traffic flow and seating to avoid crowding, and enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols. Casinos must also have enhanced air filtration, ventilation and purification standards in place in order to open.
