I know I’m late to the party but I just got the chance to try out the Fat Boy Smoothing Blades from @columbiatools
These leave a perfect butt joint on the finish and I’m really happy I gave them a try.

Your next tool upgrade could be a better-fitting handle, your first flat box setup or a complete automatic taping system.

Explore our expanded @columbiatools #drywall tool selection at @hewsonbros —from #handtools and Predator carbon fibre options to tapers, finishing boxes, corner tools, nailspotters, rollers and sanders.

Swipe through the categories, then tell us what’s on your list. Our team can help you compare options and put together a setup for the work you do.

Hand tools have a place on every drywall project. Even with an automatic taping setup, you still need dependable tools for smaller areas, detail work, repairs, and touch-ups.

Our Columbia hand tool selection includes putty knives, taping knives, mud pans, trowels, finishing hawks, and bucket scoops.

Putty knives help with filling and patching, while wider taping knives let you spread and feather compound across joints. Trowels and hawks support finishers who prefer that approach to applying compound, and pans and scoops keep material close at hand.

Whether you’re replacing a favourite knife or assembling a complete hand tool kit, these essentials support the work from the first coat through the final touch-up.

Tool weight and handling matter when you spend the day taping and finishing. The Columbia Predator family uses carbon fibre construction to offer lighter alternatives to corresponding conventional tools.

The range includes the Predator taper, compound and cam-lock tubes, a hot mud pump, Columbia One handles, and Matrix handles in multiple lengths.

For contractors reviewing an existing setup, Predator tools provide an opportunity to consider weight, reach, and handling alongside each tool’s function. You can choose the components that make sense for your work and build from there.

An automatic taper applies joint tape and compound in one operation, making it a central tool in many professional drywall setups.

Our Columbia automatic taper selection includes the Automatic Taper, Columbia One Predator Taper, and Sawed Off Taper.

The right choice depends on the spaces you finish, your preferred tool weight, and how the taper fits into your overall workflow. Consider cleaning access, by @columbiatools

Screws!?!
Spotter or by hand?
We do the first 2 coats by hand and use a 3” spotter on the 3rd
Here, it was our 2nd coat as we were in a time crunch.
Quick and easy!!
The pole is a twist-lock by @rankeetools and a @columbiatools 3” spotter.
