Combo Chimbita is a Brooklyn-based band with Colombian roots. They’re known for their innovative fusion of Colombian & Afro-Caribbean sounds with psychedelia, dub and rock elements. Alex is joined by 3 of the 4 members of the band: Carolina Oliveros, Niño Lento es Fuego and Dilemastronauta (shout out to the absent Prince of Queens). They have a chat about coming together as a band, their roots, influences, their musical process and so much more. 8 days ago today in Austin was so lovely! 🤎

Thank you @meadowfestatx for creating and holding this space where we can continue sharing music and medicine with the world, and for opening up conversations around mental health and the ways it continues to silently take lives. Music will always be medicine for the soul. ✨

Thank you, Chimbitas, for being there with us.
It was beautiful to see you, feel your energy, and sing for you. 🫶🏽

See you soon, Austin! 🐆🪐🌞✨❤️‍🔥

We knew that day wasn’t going to be just any day…
After hiking up the mountain and walking at high altitude, where the air gets thin,
we felt it—this was going to be something special. Reaching that sacred place, the land of the ancestral frailejones, and asking permission to be there…

Everything felt calm and peaceful. The sun and the cold touched our faces at the same time, and we just felt grateful—to live it, and to share a little piece of it with you and the world.

Big thanks to this amazing team of talented humans who made it all happen, @idworks and everyone who’s not pictured here.

And thank you for being with us through these 10 years of music.

CHIMBITAS!!!

CHIMBITAS!!! The official video for our new song
~ PERFON DIVINO ~ 🤍 produced by @en_hakim and mixed by @victoraxelrod is now available!

One of the most beautiful experiences we’ve had was being able to create it in Colombia 🇨🇴, with an incredible team and in a place that is sacred to the whole world.
In the mountains, in the páramos surrounded by frailejones whispering stories to us…
we were able to reach the summit and speak with our ancestors, realizing that life on earth is just a series of steps and it’s up to us to know how to walk them.

We share this with you con mucho love
