My dreams really came to life when I met Gail Simone at Rose City Comic Con. In high school I was at my local library looking for a comic book with strong female characters. I found Birds of Prey by Gail Simone and read through the whole series. In 2025 I got into cosplaying and picked my very first cosplay to be huntress. I choose her as growing up watching justice league unlimited huntress was the first hero I wanted to dress up as that you couldn’t just find a Halloween costume for. When picking what version to base my cosplay off of, Gail Simone, Birds of Prey book is the one I landed on. I really resonated with the comic and character portrayed in this comic. This had a major positive impact in my late teens and I wouldn’t be the same person without this comic book. Little did I know, I was in the same state as Gail Simone and would have to meet her at Rose City Comic Con! All my dreams came true with huntress and this was a perfect way to end off my supergirl summer 🩵💜🩵💜 #rosecitycomiccon2026 #huntress #rcc taken in Rose City Comic Con by @comixgail

HUGE shout out to @comixgail .

The top picture is from at least 10 years ago, when I first started at Things From Another World / Dark Horse Comics.

Gail will always hold a special place in my heart. SHe was one of the 1st Creators that made me feel welcome in the comics community and also one of the women who became a mentor for me!

Of course, I was always a big fan of her writing/work but I'm an even bigger fan of the person.

Thank you for always taking a moment for me and the advice that you have provided throughout the years. taken in Rose City Comic Con by @comixgail

Is it wrong that the main reason I stay on Instagram is to look at amazing X-Men cosplayers?

I love sports stories.

I have been writing a boxing story for
@darkhorse.com
, and I think it's quietly one of the best things I've ever written. Each issue has a 'back-up' story right up front and this is my favorite one. Amazing art by Elisa Romboli, out today.

It's boxing, but so much more. by @comixgail

I just read the first two issues of TOMB OF APOCALYPSE by written by Ashley Allen and art by @domenico_carbone_art and holy moley, what a great series this is!

Ashley is one of the most talented new writers, the art is full of incredible visuals and it's got a fantastic Jubilee.

I loved it, don't miss this one! by @comixgail
