As we enter the Lunar New Year, we embrace the wisdom of the Earth Snake-a symbol of stability, careful planning, and transformation. Just as the snake sheds its skin, this year is an opportunity for renewal, growth, and a deep sense of purpose in the work we do.

At Commit to Green, we believe small actions lead to big change. Like the Earth Snake, we approach sustainability with careful planning and intention, helping communities and businesses navigate the path toward a circular economy. Every step we take-whether reducing waste, composting, or making mindful choices-adds up to something greater for our planet. 🌏✨

Let’s embrace innovation, sustainability, and collective impact in 2025! Wishing you a year filled with peace, love, and prosperity. 🎊

Happy Farmer’s Market Week!
We’re thrilled to share our weekly CSA bag from @lungsnyc ! Every week, we’re amazed by the freshest, most delicious pesticide-free produce our local farmers provide. 🍅🥕🌽

But this week, we’re taking it one step further. Inspired by the 2017-2018 culinary series SCRAPS: Parts Uneaten, we decided to embark on our own food waste adventure! Follow the series as national Sur La Table Chef @joelgamoran travels across the U.S., creating incredible feasts in unexpected places, using the most out-of-the-box ingredients – food waste and scraps. 🌎✨

Last week, we found a beautiful head of cauliflower in our CSA bag. Instead of tossing the leaves, we got creative and turned them into a crunchy, delicious ingredient for our vegetable pasta. 🍝🥦 Voila! Our first attempt at upcycling scraps was a success!
Join us in celebrating Farmer’s Market Week by getting creative with your produce. Let’s reduce food waste and make every bite count!

Echoing Nixon’s 1970 challenge, this exhibit curated by @timedland at @posterhousenyc takes us through a visual history of environmental activism. 🌎✊ Each poster, while a testament to our ongoing struggles, also stands as a stark call to action. As we navigate through decades of passionate pleas and stark warnings, let’s not view these as mere echoes of the past but as urgent reminders of the work that lies ahead.

At Commit to Green, we embrace this legacy of activism, transforming awareness into action. Join us in making sustainability more than a goal — make it our everyday living. 🌱💪

Don’t miss your chance to visit this impactful exhibit at 119 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10011 before it closes on February 25th! Be sure to follow Commit to Green for more!

Hey New Yorkers! 👋

We recently attended a Compost Teach-In event held @nypl and it was so informative and really spoke to boots on the ground from community composters like @bigreuse @earthmatterny @grownyc and @lesecologyctr . These are some of the amazing nonprofits that are recycling our food waste and keeping our city and planet Earth green. 🌎💚

Unfortunately, NYC budget cuts have defunded composting initiatives immensely, leading to over 120 people losing their jobs. We have to protect and support our local composting communities before they disappear completely! 💪

Please join us and donate to these organizations here 👉 https://secure.givelively.org/donate/big-reuse/compost

A special shoutout to glopezsez @claremiflin @anneliesemannes for organizing the event and continuing to educate and advocate for composting! taken in NYPL The New York Public Library by @committogreen
