This was a lovely surprise!

Absolutely delighted to receive a Community Media Champion Award from the @community_media Association (CMA) in recognition of my contribution to community media!

It really means a lot. Community radio has been such a huge part of my life, and I’ve always believed in its power to bring people together and create opportunities for people to shine.

From @thisisriverside to @westminster.waves and working with brilliant community broadcasters across the country, it’s been quite a journey!

The best bit? Watching people discover talents they never knew they had and seeing what a difference community radio can make.

A massive thank you to the CMA, to @thedomchambers amd his amazing charity @soundvisioncio and to all the wonderful people I’ve worked with along the way. This award means so much because of you.

And I’m not finished yet!

Last week I was really pleased (and rather humbled!) to receive a Community Media Champions Award at the @community_media Festival.

A big thank you to the Community Media Association and @soundvisioncio, particularly @thedomchambers, who presented me with the award. And congratulations to fellow recipients @podding_by_jo and @jasonrosam!

This coming February marks 20 years since I started working full-time in community radio, beginning at @futureradio_norwich. Back then, I was just delighted to be presenting a breakfast show! 📻

I've been lucky enough to do all sorts of things since, meet some wonderful people and work on projects that have made a real difference to communities. Community radio has given me so many opportunities, and I still love being involved through my work at the University of Bedfordshire and beyond.

A few photos from over the years, including my early Future Radio days, meeting the King at Buckingham Palace last year, and celebrating at the festival last weekend.

I'm very grateful to everyone I've worked with along the way. Thanks all.

Huge thank you to @javedsattar1 , who ran CMA Live throughout CMA Festival 2026. Not only did he manage the full broadcast and interviews with total professionalism, he also travelled all the way from Scotland - carrying every piece of kit with him - to make it all happen. A phenomenal effort and a huge part of today’s success.
