🚎 Solidarity with Transit Workers! 🚏

The Victoria Transit Riders Union stands firmly with the striking transit operators, mechanics, and cleaners in the Cowichan Valley, who, for over 200 days, have carried on their fight for fair wages and access to bathrooms.

There can be no excellent transit without justice for workers! We call for fair treatment and pay for all transit workers. Adequate bathroom access, realistic scheduling, and safe working conditions.

We call on Transdev and the BC government to listen, negotiate in good faith, and prioritize the well-being of transit workers who are essential to community mobility and access.

Call to Action: August 30th - Ride the @communityactionbus leaving Working Culture Bakery (2506 Douglas St, Victoria) at 8:45 am and returning by 2 pm. We will rally starting at the Duncan train station park from 10 am - 12 pm. taken in Duncan Train Station by @communityactionbus

🚎 Solidarity with Transit Workers! 🚏

The Worker Solidarity Network stands firmly with the striking transit drivers in Duncan, who for nearly seven months, have carried on their fight for fair wages and working conditions.

At WSN, our work is rooted in worker-led solidarity and we believe in direct action, community organizing, and strengthening workers’ power to advocate for increased labour protections for all workers.

The transit drivers’ fight is our fight! Their win will be a win for all workers, bringing us closer to stronger and just workplaces. We urge the working-class populations in the Cowichan Valley and beyond to come together and amplify the drivers’ voices, underscoring that this struggle belongs to all of us.

We call on Transdev and the BC government to listen, negotiate in good faith, and prioritize the well-being of transit workers who are essential to community mobility and access. Transit drivers’ work must become dignified work now!

Call to Action: August 30th - Join the @victoriatransitridersunion ‘s drive from Victoria to Duncan to show solidarity to transit workers in Duncan from 10 am - 12 pm. @communityactionbus leaving Working Culture Bakery (2506 Douglas St, Victoria) at 9am and returning by 2 pm. by @communityactionbus

This has been a busy summer for the Action Bus!
Summer camps, fishing trips, weddings, workshops, outreach, beer fest, and the largest concert ever on Van Isl! 🤯🤯🤯
First and foremost we are a non-profit, working to maintain a means to get folks to any call to action they need!
In the spirit of this, we have organized an art crawl in the city of “Victoria” with all proceeds going toward keeping this blue beauty on the road, and maybe giving her a sibling 💪💪

Check the link in our bio, our story, and last post to see info about tickets to the Art Crawl next Wednesday August 27.

See you there! #yyjartcrawl #artvictoria #communityactionbus #actionbus #vehicleforchange by @communityactionbus
