We’re celebrating a whole year of good food, good people, and celebrating the incredible people who make this place feel like home.

Khachapuri is Georgia’s beloved cheese-filled bread, with different regional variations, from our boat-shaped loaves topped with egg, cheese, butter and Zatar to special versions made for welcoming guests.

On a recent trip to Georgia, we had the honor of learning how to make Christmas khachapuri from local women who have carried this tradition through generations.

At Compass Rose, travel and the traditions we discover along the way inspire so much of what we do. Come enjoy our own cheesy, buttery khachapuri made fresh every day.

It’s no secret that I’ve been obsessed with Georgian wine since 2010. Every trip back, I find new wineries or visit old friends and get to see them grow. This July, I got to do both, and my friends @liberateantonio and @reed.mp4 were there to catch some of our visit to @baias_wine.

From the restaurants to the creation of @gotherewines, I’m gonna get you all to try this wine if it’s the last thing I do… 🇬🇪🍷

Tiki Tuesdays & trivia at one of LA’s best food halls! Maydan Market in West Adams houses a variety of culinary superstars under one roof, and at their cocktail bar Compass Rose you can order a little bit from all of them. They have a daily happy hour from 4-6pm but every Tuesday all night is a special tiki menu from Bar Director Danny Rubenstein (formerly at Here’s Looking at You, which used to have some of my favorite cocktails!) and Kings Trivia beginning at 7pm. It’s a fun time!

While at the market, I highly recommend checking out @eatvesti for snacks and Italian-leaning bites, @goldenmountainchicken for delicious Thai chicken, plus @lugyah_la and @malena_bytamaleselena.

Compass Rose happy hour (4-6pm):
Cheese Pizza — $12
Thankful Punch — $12
