Your voice doesn't need to sound like anyone else's to be valuable. The world doesn't need another copy — it needs YOU, telling the truth only you can tell, the way only you can tell it. Keep writing like you. That's the assignment.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6, ESV).

Your writing journey may feel unfinished. Your manuscript may still need work. The dream may look very different than you imagined.

But your confidence doesn’t have to rest in how quickly you finish.

God is faithful to complete the work He began in His people. So keep writing. Keep learning. Keep trusting Him with the process.

Your unfinished work is not evidence of God’s unfinished work in you. ✍️

You don’t have to feel like a writer to be one.

Maybe you’ve never called yourself that. Maybe your words live in the notes app on your phone, in half-finished journal pages, in the prayers you’ve never said out loud.

But those words matter.

The story God has written in you is not too small, too messy, or too ordinary to be told.

The ones who think they aren’t writers are often the ones with the most to say. You were never waiting for permission. You were only waiting to begin.

So start where you are, with the sentence you have. Someone out there needs to hear what only you can say. ✍️

Sometimes, as writers, we find ourselves in a rut.

Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. And before we know it, writing has moved to the bottom of the list.

Sometimes we’re not lacking passion — we’re simply exhausted. And when we’re running on empty, it’s hard to make space for the calling God has placed on our hearts.

But God meets us in our weariness.

Jeremiah 31:25 reminds us, “For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish” (ESV).

There will always be something else we could do instead of writing. But what if, instead of trying to find more energy, we ask God to replenish what has been depleted?

Your writing may look different in different seasons. That’s OK. Your words still matter, even when you feel stuck.

Bring your weariness to God. Ask Him for wisdom and strength. Trust Him to make a way.

And then take the next small step. ✍️🤍

If you’re a writer, you probably saw yourself in at least one of these. 🍂

The cozy writer.

The deadline writer.

The research writer.

The inspirational writer.

No judgment. We all have our methods. 😉

Tell us which one you are — or better yet, tag the writer who is definitely one of these. 👀✍️

Words matter because they carry something of the person who writes them. Their experiences, their questions, and their hard-won wisdom. And, the way they have witnessed God at work.

We believe women’s voices are worth making room for.

When women faithfully put words to what God has taught them, their stories can encourage, challenge, and remind someone else that they are not alone.

Today we’re celebrating Kayla Castleberry, Leanne Esau, and Famia Green, winners of the @compelprowriters Compel Pro writing challenge whose words are featured in the Fall 2026 issue of Truly.

We’re honored to make space for their voices and share their words with you.

We’re also celebrating Charlie Al Harthy and Beth Nelson, whose winning pieces will be published soon on the Truly Co. blog. We can’t wait for you to read their words, too.

Congratulations to each of these writers, and thank you for trusting us with your words! by @compelprowriters

Sometimes we write with the sole intention of someone reading our words. But here’s your permission slip for today: some words are just for practice.

Writing is a muscle, built through repetition. Not every sentence needs to be polished, shared, or even saved. Those rough, wandering words aren’t wasted.

They’re doing important work! They teach your mind how to move, help your voice stretch, and strengthen your ability to show up again tomorrow. The writing no one ever sees is often what makes the writing everyone does see possible.

So if today’s words feel messy or unfinished, let them be! They’re shaping you more than you think.

Keep writing. Even the unseen words count! - @kaitlinngarrison

Have you ever found yourself 10 cups of coffee in, staring at a to-do list as long as your leg and feeling anxiety rise in your heart? Yet somehow you still raise your fist in heroic fashion and declare, “I can do all things through Christ!”

But what if “all things” doesn’t mean everything that lands on our plate? What if it means the things He has actually called us to do?

We often quote Philippians 4:13 as a reason we can keep pushing, keep adding, and keep saying yes. But I wonder if we’ve sometimes misunderstood the heart of this verse.

The Amplified Version says:

“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”

The pivotal part is this: “which He has called me to do.”

When we don’t pause to discern the difference between a good idea and a God-given assignment, we can easily find ourselves overwhelmed, distracted, and discouraged.

More often than I’d like to admit, I add too much to my plate — and suddenly panic, fear, and worry take the place of peace.

So maybe the question isn’t, “Can I do this?”

Maybe the question is, “Has God called me to do this?”

As women who wear many hats, let’s invite the Holy Spirit into every space and responsibility He has given us. Let’s not wait until chaos takes over before we ask for His guidance.

Instead, let’s begin each day — and each task — with this prayer:

Lord, what have You called me to do today? What is Your will for this assignment?

Then we can rest in the confidence that He will provide the strength, wisdom, and peace needed to accomplish what He has asked of us.

Can I be honest?

I’m not naturally a good follower. I’d much rather lead.

Life feels a little clearer when things go according to my plan … maybe you feel that way too.

The two things that challenge me most about following God are:

First, I struggle when I’m not the one in charge — especially when I feel confident I know the right path forward.

Second, I wrestle with timing. I want to understand the when, the how, and the why.

Yet God gently reminds me that His ways are not my ways, and His thoughts are not my thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).

So how do I remain confident in His plan and trust His timing?

By staying close to Him.

Jesus tells us to abide in Him (John 15:4). Trust grows when I sit with Him — not just when I write about Him.

And then comes the harder part: waiting.

Following God often looks like creating and waiting … then creating and waiting again.

As writers and content creators, we have a unique calling: We lead from the middle. We create from the overflow of what God is teaching us, trusting Him to guide both our words and our audience.

When we stay near to Him, He leads us so we can lead others.

I can trust that the words He places on my blank page have purpose and that He will bring them to the people who need them in His perfect timing.

So if things aren’t unfolding the way you planned, pause.

Sit with Him.

Let Him meet you in the waiting and satisfy the longings of your heart.

He is faithful to lead you ... and His timing is always perfect.
