What a magical Saturday evening with @pallinaroundcharters_hoodcanal. The sunset painting the clouds, water, and sky set the perfect backdrop for one of the best meals I have ever had, all cooked onboard. All the while my heart was swelling being there with some of the people I love most in this world. Week 2 of the Artists Way had my artists date at Laurelhurst Park, one of my favorite places in town. It was a bit harder to find some beauty in the colder seasons, but the light was pretty magical and the flaura and fauna always provide joy.

Hoping that part of this experience will lead to posting more photography in general.

The same could be said of the Fisher Poets event in Astoria, Oregon.

This event made me laugh harder and louder than I had in a long time, and twenty minutes later made me cry so hard I needed to hold and be held by the people around me.

More and more I find myself reaching for the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows to see if the feeling I am having is described there.

Watching this post sunset glow, feeling both the beauty of a magical experience, and the sense of loss that it was over.

I found the word today.

Sometime's it's tough to talk yourself into going out. It's raining, dark, your cozy, the list goes on. When you do it anyway, and make some great memories with friends it's hard to look back and wonder why you ever wanted to stay in.

Balance-

Yesterday was a tough day. One where it was hard to quiet the noise and worries about the future. A day where it feels like I am on a runaway train.

I found myself going through old photos, looking to feel something other than an overwhelming sense of chaos.

A few things helped: Memories with friends, beautiful places in the world, and also a lot of the rugby community posting "With You".

"With You" is kind of a catch all on the pitch, it can mean so many things depending on the moment, but at it's core it means "You're safe, do what you need to do, and whatever happens I got you."

It struck me that this is the feeling we all need. Friends, Family, loved ones, pets; whatever it is we need to feel that support and also to provide that support.

So if you are reading this:

I am with you.

It’s hard to beat fall wild flowers, those late bloomers of the year. Thriving while the rest of the world around them starts to ready for hibernation, giving us that last splash of color to get us through the gray times.
