POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
All artworks are by @sliman.mansour

1. A good place to start is to follow @wizard_bisan1, @motaz_azaiza, @hossam_shbat, and @abuoazzum. Other Acc's like @palestinestudies and @visualizing_palestine also have lots of excellent information. Interacting with these posts in every way possible is essential.

2. It doesn't take long and it's important that your representatives, whether for government or a relevant cultural body, know that this is important to those they represent.

3. Perhaps you can give money you save from not spending on these services to direct or mutual aid or charity. @nothanks_app @bdsnationalcommittee

4. There are some incredible organisations on the ground. @ele_elna_elak provide clean drinking water to people in the encampments saving them exceptionally long, hot walks to do so. @thesanabelteam provide food in some locations. @thamra_org are a farmers' collective in the North providing locals with seedlings to increase self resilience. @cwtchestogaza2024 in Wales are helping families who were evacuated to survive. @nervesurgeon is about to travel there and needs supplies.

5. Ask me for details as I am speaking to some people or look to orgs like @palestineasdiqa and @projectwater.melon.

6. So many excellent ones out there, @hirbawi is always a good place to start, then @yaffaltd, @zeindee, @palestineonaplate , @thetatreezcollective. There are artists like @adawyahmad and Sliman Mansour whose work is featured here as well.

Thank you to every single one of our beautiful community who has made this possible. What a wondrous thing to give a young person who has endured so much the gift of education. Jamal is so happy to have new clothes for school, stationery and textbooks and to be able to continue his educational journey thanks to your help. The family are still trying to source a school bag but they have become quite difficult to find and expensive to source because they have become an essential item for fleeing random 💥💥💥.

Imagine your children's school bags become essential grab-bags for fleeing such horror...

@jamal_my_brother we are all so proud of you and wish you every success in your learning and we have no doubt that you will go on to pursue beautiful knowledge just as your brothers have. We wish you every success. 🤍🤍🤍 by @conceptacassar

Children across the UK are settling back into school, but 15 year old Jamal is still waiting for the chance.

For three years now, Jamal has been unable to attend school because of the catastrophic j'side in G.

Jamal is a bright, determined boy who loves football and maths. Last year, he survived a bombing that killed his father and siblings. He still has shrapnel embedded in his hand from that day, causing him considerable pain.

Despite everything he has been through, Jamal wants to learn. He wants the opportunity to return to school, study, and have some sense of a normal childhood again.

We are raising £1,000 to help make that possible.

The money will cover:
• School fees (approx £200 per month)
• Stationery
• Textbooks
• School clothes
• A sturdy school bag

Your help could give Jamal the chance to sit in a class again, open a textbook (very few remain in G now!), do the maths he loves, and begin building a future beyond the circumstances he has been forced to endure.

Pitch in or pass it on, let's get Jamal to school. See linktree for more. by @conceptacassar

One small chance connection between two thousand miles reaching beyond borders and razor wire and occupation changed everything.

We would talk philosophy, politics, family, farming - you shared your stories and began the process of opening my eyes to so many things that had been hidden from my view... I wish I could reach back to those conversations now but WhatsApp has cruelly decided to wipe our conversation history since your phone number fell out of use after your martyrdom.

You worked so hard for your loved ones and protected them fiercely - I remember how tired you were carrying heavy gas canisters in the heat back in the days when they were still available... Your greatest gift to me has without a doubt been the most beautiful friendship with @basma_amal241.

I miss our walks through Khan Younis on your way to the Nasser to speak to the medical delegations, always learning from others, sitting a while to find whatever internet connection you could in those early days of this evil. You had a thirst for knowledge and a mind that deserved a chance to spread its wings. You loved your land and also loved to know what lay beyond its horizons.

I hope you can see that I have tried my best and continue to do so, that I haven't stopped or wavered. There is so much I wish I could share with you now. I hope we would laugh about some of it.

A whole year… 19/7

A year has passed since three lights went out in my home, but they never went out in my heart.

A year I’ve been learning how to live with half a soul, how to smile while inside I feel an absence no one can see. The days have passed, but time hasn’t been able to erase your details, your voices, or the places that still speak your names.

My father… you were the support I leaned on when the world faltered, and today I miss your presence with every step.

My brother… you left a void that no one can fill, as if a part of my life went with you.

My sister… your presence still fills my memory, and your features still reside in my prayers before sleep and every morning.

They say time eases the pain, but some losses never age, and some absences grow larger every day.

On the first anniversary of your martyrdom, I don’t mourn you, for martyrs are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance. Rather, I mourn my heart, which has yet to find peace with your absence. O God, make their graves gardens of Paradise, and reunite me with them in Your abode of mercy. Let this separation be a meeting that will never be followed by farewell.

May God have mercy on my father, my brother, and my sister, and may their memory be an inextinguishable light, and may mercy precede us to them in every prayer.

The first anniversary… and the pain is still fresh. by @conceptacassar

Today is Palestinian Prisoners' Day. Remember they are hostages. Never forget that 40% of Palestinian men have been taken hostage at some point. Countless of their bodies held in the Cemetery of Numbers never to be returned. So many people disappeared, subjected to torture and the most horrific SA imaginable. Women and children languish in these death camps, and that is what they are now that the new law has passed.

What can you do?

A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS AT THE END OF 2025

we learned the power and the limits of love: its ability to reach beyond the highest razor wire but its total powerlessness in the face of the deepest grief and trauma. How presence can save lives and heal hearts. The salve of steadfast friendship in the belly of Hell. The power of poetry over tyranny. We lost our most beautiful birds of Paradise. We trusted hope and defeated despair. We depended on the kindness of strangers, we loved despite distance.

We sang songs in defiance and lost despite proximity. We ate never-ending cactus. We learned deep lessons from those who gave their today so that others might taste their freedom and return tomorrow. The gentlest among us are turned into giants by the courage of convictions. Boys with the hearts of lions can bring down the terror of empire.

We learned that there are those who resist through growth, the roses that push up heavenwards through the concrete. Those who save seed in the quiet hope of a feast tomorrow despite the famine. We learned that the farmer is as much of a threat to the depraved evil of the occupation as any who take up arms because they are the promise of a tomorrow to come. May their laughter at the harvest ring out against the destruction and scatter seeds of hope in all directions, rising like dust on the wind and blinding all perpetrators of injustice. May the rose rise in Rafah, may she blossom, FLOREAT GAZA.

May each soul lost rise like a star to guide the hearts of those left behind to a place of consolation. May all the birds of Paradise sing the song of a new dawn, daybreak over liberation and let us tell your stories always that you may live forever in hearts and olive trees. by @conceptacassar
