Communities across the world will unite to speak out against the economic war, genocide, mass atrocities, and resource-driven violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). For three decades, the Congolese people have endured one of the world's deadliest and most neglected humanitarian crises.

GENOCOST - is a term used to describes the systematic mass atrocities committed in pursuit of the DR Congo's vast natural wealth.

Christevie and Olivia are running a 10k every month in support of grassroots charities and organisations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. ❤️🇨🇩

The June run is extra special since it’s our month of Independence celebrating 66 years of independence for Congo. None of what we do today would be possible without the generations who fought for that freedom!

Unfortunately, Christevie’s body decided it needed a little extra maintenance this month, so she had to sit this one out. But she’ll be back for the July run! In the meantime, Olivia held it down for the both of them and got another 10km over the finish line.

As we begin Quarter 3, we’re still working towards our fundraising goal and supporting grassroots organisations making a difference in Congo. Every donation, share and bit of support helps us continue the journey.💙💙 by @congoleseroots

From unforgettable performances on the pitch to iconic suits, prayer, music and unwavering pride, this World Cup reminded the world what it means to be Congolese. It wasn’t just about results; it was about changing the narrative and inspiring a generation.

Our latest Substack reflects on why this tournament meant so much to Congolese people at home and across the diaspora.

This year, two members of our team, Olivia and Christevie, have been running a monthly 10k in support of grassroots charities and organisations in Congo.

In the first quarter you helped us raise over £600 for the Christ Pour Tous Orphanage.

Help us to make a bigger impact for another cause by clicking the second link for Q2. A small start, but an important part of a wider effort.

The first quarter is over and we’re supporting Christ Pour Tous Orphanage! 🇨🇩💙

They’re doing vital work to support vulnerable children, helping create safer spaces and more secure futures. It’s about making sure young people have the care, stability and opportunities they deserve as they grow up.

Every run this year is about backing work like this. It might seem small, but it all builds into something bigger 🏃🏾‍♀️💙

What prompts someone to learn a language? In the West, the desire to learn a language is usually driven by the desire to expand opportunities. Back home, language learning feels more natural, according to one of our speakers, Jose Kalanda. With so many languages in Congo, the desire to learn a language is simply about wanting to communicate with people from different regions. What do you think?

Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have declared Wednesday a public holiday after the national football team beat Jamaica, qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in 52 years, according to the BBC.

DR Congo’s ministry of labour and employment said that as a result of the “historic” victory, the nation could have the day off work to “celebrate in unity, fervour and national pride”. This is Congo’s first World Cup appearance since 1974.

Well done to The Leopards! #congo #congolesepeople #worldcup2026🏆 by @congoleseroots
