Three years ago, Connecting Pieces began with one belief: no one should have to navigate illness, an ostomy, caregiving, or uncertainty alone.

Since then, every patient, family, volunteer, partner, donor, and person who has shared their story has helped build this community.

What a sweet way to end an unforgettable summer! 💛🍦👩🏽‍🍳

For our final Young Chefs class with @connectingpcs , we made ice cream in a bag while learning about the importance of gut health and how small, healthy habits can help us nurture our bodies from the inside out.

Together, we talked about how taking care of our bodies isn’t just about one food or one meal. It’s about creating healthy habits, like staying active, drinking water, getting enough sleep, eating a variety of nourishing foods, and enjoying treats in moderation. Even while making ice cream, our young chefs learned that balance is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

Looking back on this summer, I’m so proud of how much these students have grown. They learned kitchen safety, explored new recipes, built confidence, worked as a team, and discovered that cooking is about so much more than food. It’s about learning life skills, celebrating culture, and caring for ourselves and those around us.

Thank you, Connecting Pieces Inc., for trusting me to be part of this incredible summer. And to my amazing young chefs, thank you for your curiosity, your creativity, and the joy you brought to every class. I can’t wait to see where your love for cooking takes you next! 💛✨

Connecting Pieces is preparing medical and ostomy aid for Algeria, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Egypt.

We are currently seeking financial donations to help with shipping and delivery costs, along with medical and ostomy supply donations to support these efforts. In Algeria, recent fires have created an additional need for assistance.
