This past weekend, @connectingpcs hosted their 3rd Annual Wellness Wears Confidence: Honoring Stories of Strength Fashion Show.

The event brought attention to patient experiences, self-advocacy, and body positivity while creating space for people to celebrate their stories and feel confident in who they are.

We’re grateful to have been part of an evening centered on connection, encouragement, and community.

Tonight, we had the privilege of being part of @connectingpcs Wellness Wears Confidence Fashion Show: Honoring Stories of Strength.

This special evening celebrated powerful patient stories, self-advocacy, body positivity, and the confidence that comes from embracing who we are. It was a beautiful reminder that every person has a story worth hearing, a journey worth honoring, and a reason to feel proud of who they are. ❤️

As a longtime volunteer and supporter of Connecting Pieces, this organization holds a special place in my heart. Its mission is one that I deeply believe in, and seeing the community come together to uplift and celebrate others made tonight even more meaningful.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to support our longtime friend @keyla.ic, the organization’s founder, as she continues bringing this vision to life.

We were honored to contribute to the appetizer hour with 60 handcrafted pastelitos — half beef and half cheese. 🥟💛 We’re grateful to have played a small part in an evening centered on such an important message.

Congratulations to Keyla and the entire Connecting Pieces team on a beautiful event! May the stories shared tonight continue to inspire confidence, encourage self-advocacy, and remind everyone that our differences do not diminish our worth, and every story deserves to be celebrated. ❤️

What a sweet way to end an unforgettable summer! 💛🍦👩🏽‍🍳

For our final Young Chefs class with @connectingpcs , we made ice cream in a bag while learning about the importance of gut health and how small, healthy habits can help us nurture our bodies from the inside out.

Together, we talked about how taking care of our bodies isn’t just about one food or one meal. It’s about creating healthy habits, like staying active, drinking water, getting enough sleep, eating a variety of nourishing foods, and enjoying treats in moderation. Even while making ice cream, our young chefs learned that balance is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

Looking back on this summer, I’m so proud of how much these students have grown. They learned kitchen safety, explored new recipes, built confidence, worked as a team, and discovered that cooking is about so much more than food. It’s about learning life skills, celebrating culture, and caring for ourselves and those around us.

Thank you, Connecting Pieces Inc., for trusting me to be part of this incredible summer. And to my amazing young chefs, thank you for your curiosity, your creativity, and the joy you brought to every class. I can’t wait to see where your love for cooking takes you next! 💛✨
