Headed to London this summer? This walk is a great way to see many London highlights in a short amount of time. It follows the Thames River most of the way and it’s short enough that you should have plenty of time to stop in and see each spot. If you have extra time after you end at Buckingham Palace, be sure to check out some of these other London favorites:

In honor of the final season of Ted Lasso, join me on day trip from Central London to Richmond to hangout with the Greyhounds! Only takes 20 min on the train from Waterloo station. Most of the filming locations are right near one another, so after you do a Ted Lasso tour, there are plenty of nice shops and restaurants to check out. Richmond is most famous for having one of London’s eight Royal Parks (which covers an area of 2500 acres) with greenery everywhere and lots of wildlife spotting. Have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?

Pride & Prejudice girlies you must add this to your London itinerary as it’s only an hour train ride outside of central London!

This was the location for Netherfield Park in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.

Basildon Park has also appeared in: ✨ Bridgerton ✨ Downton Abbey ✨ The Gentlemen ✨ Belgravia ✨ The Crown ✨ Marie Antoinette

(In Bridgerton, the gardens were used for scenes involving the Featheringtons, and the Formal Garden became the setting for Colin and Penelope’s first kiss. And Downton Abbey fans might recognize the interiors as Grantham House, the Crawley family’s London home.)

The estate itself is about 400 acres, so it’s not just a historic house. You can explore the gardens, parkland and walking trails for hours.

This is an 18th-century estate just outside the town of Reading, and when I found out my coworker lived right nearby, I obviously had to visit to reenact some Pride & Prejudice.

Basildon Park is part of the National Trust, which is kind of like a UK version of a National Park. Think of it as a huge conservation organization that protects historic houses, gardens and countrysides.

The original owner of this estate made his fortune through the East India Company and built it around 1780. In the 1950s, Basildon Park was in such poor condition that it was facing demolition. The Lord who bought the estate in 1952, restored it, and ultimately donated the house, estate and collections to the National Trust in 1978. So now it is available to anyone to visit and walk the vast gardens.

If you’re planning a trip to London and love Pride & Prejudice, period dramas or historic estates, put Basildon Park on your list.

MUST have a window seat when flying into Heathrow Airport! You might just get the chance to see Windsor Castle from above and feel like Princess Mia Thermopolis yourself!

I was freaking out that I got to see the Castle from the plane. Felt like being in a private jet on the way to your mega mansion, except for in basic economy in the back row 😅

Did you know the castle they used as the Genovia castle in the second movie is actually in the south of England near Salisbury (Longford Castle). Might have to make my way down there for some reenactments ;)

We used to dance in my parents basement at sleepovers and now we are dancing on our travels around the world (or Chicago for now) 😋
