Next stop... C4 with two extended sets from @au4r33y & @harold_steeplejack B2B @skinny.tony

Au4r33y has cemented herself in the Eora scene as a dynamic DJ that can play at any time of day and still bring her audacious style that she is so well known for.

And for the first time, witness the two great minds of Harold and Wingnut collide for an extended set that we're surprised hasn't happened already… Steeplejack brain meets Boof head, one night only, not to be missed. by @cont.tact

The third stop on the Contact express is unashamedly for the dykes and the dolls -

@milkpaste has a record collection that could make you weep, collected over nearly 15 years in the game. And she spins them for all the dancefloors you wish you were on - from the heavy hitters like Night Mass, to intimate afterparties at Fanatico Records. Her sets balance sophistication and sass, spanning soul, 90's house, minimual, techno and electro.

@annabel.le.gaspar is an icon to generations of dancefloors. As a founder and resident of Bad Dog, she has been curating arguably this city's most liberated, connected and enduring queer parties since the year 2000. We couldn't be more excited to welcome her dynamic, instinctive and deeply feeling-oriented approach to music to Contact

Bringing us home is Contact resident @niki.audio.visuals - moving from her usual spot at the ops desk to showcase the fruits of her time spent digging deep for rare and eclectic gems. Expect chunky New York house, stripped-back progressive grooves and dubbed-out psychedelic disco.

Remember to tap on, let's make contact at the front of the dancefloor xo by @cont.tact

For the second stop of the series, we have the first of three of @prm__t ‘s guest curations; some of the most exciting minds in dub, bass and dancehall.

Mx-Ai is an Eora based musician best known for their presence at the back of dancefloors (and occasionally in front of the left speaker stack) as well as their mind bending productions on Midheaven and General Merchant Records. Expect deep, sexy and off-kilter cuts from this eclectic digger.

In the very low chance that you are not familiar with Emelyne, you’re in for a ride… with a jam-packed schedule it’s baffling how she finds time to dig so consistently for both new and old music that always hits the right spot. Whether it be on her PBS radio show ‘The Blend’ that she co-hosts with Bevin Campbell, or live, Emelyne can hold the attention of an audience in a way that most DJs can only dream of.

Marley Swain (aka the BassBin Interrogator) is the pride and joy of Naarm’s dub and bass music scene. His hands aren’t just good at spinning records though, Marley has just finished building his own speaker stack, dubbed the ‘Interrogator SoundSystem’. Marley’s ear is particularly attune to the low end of the frequency spectrum, expect to get your head blown off and chest pounded by low Hz soundwaves.

For the first journey on the Contact rail network, we present three icons of the Sydney Street scene:

finedining, Danish/Australian Eora-based artist and core member of the Contact crew, kicks off our series for the year with her signature Scandinavian-influenced atmospheric melodies, chunky psy bass lines and bubbly trance.

Land of Rah are one of the most unique experiments in Sydney dance culture, expanding past the bounds of the dancefloor and pushing into world-building, comics and art galleries. Combining live instrumentation, jazz inflections and trance rhythms, they create sets equal part melodic and euphoric.

Bellwether of the doof and unmistakable behind the decks, swisherman may be the safest pair of hands in Eora’s underground scene. His deep, considered and malleable selections are always just right for the occasion - and just the right amount of unserious. After 6 months diving deep under his deep minimal doof alias lopro, we are excited to welcome swisherman for his debut set at Contact.

On September 13, Contact invites you to partake in a springtime ritual ~

Chief spell casters are DJ Plead & rRoxymore, who join us for an extended B2B set. Expect their signature rhythmic & textural productions - rooted in experimentation, heavy on the bass & blending elements of techno, house, broken beat, and dub. Notes of eastern scales, Lebanese pop & intricate percussion weave into the mix for an irresistible invocation to the dance.

Also conjuring incantations are two Wizards in Dark Pyjamas (iykyk), and sowing the seeds of another world is Otherworld, a dance collective who combine technical skill and storytelling to bring fantasy to life.

This Saturday Otherworld sews the seeds of our spring ritual with a performance devised especially for this Contact ~

Otherworld uses movement as medium - shaping space, memory, and identity into a living, breathing experience - building worlds like yet unlike our own.

Otherworld centres queer perspectives not as a trend, but as a cultural lineage that deserves visibility and celebration. We are so excited to welcome them for their Contact debut ~

Closing our series this line is all stops Bump! Thank you to everyone who had joined us for the last 2 weeks, we really couldn’t be happier<3

This line will connect you to:

@djorbit_
For those who joined us last time at club contact, you may remember this familiar character. Part of the Transitions crew and with 10+ years experience playing in Eora. Featuring a mix of house and tech, his preference for long sets is a showcase of the years work put into an extensive record collection.

@hannah.d.__
Hannah D is a DJ and artist from Meanjin (Brisbane), but has long since been a notable resident of Naarm
(Melbourne) — a city with a dedicated electronic music community that sees her as a go-to for progressive sounds. Through both her near universal musical involvement and delicately-blended mixes, Hannah has created a tangible connection around the globe with new age revivalists of
the 90s and 00s sound.

B2b
@tirumiksu
Naarm/Melbourne-based, and of Fijian Indian heritage, Miki is a DJ who has firmly established herself as a vibrant presence in her local scene in only a few years. With an eclectic sonic palette, Miki swings between glitchy tech, electro, breaks and progressive sounds.

@jakobmehmet
Yakup is an Eora based organiser and dee-jay. Always coming through with a mixed bag and a party attitude, his taste is largely influenced by the oddball sounds of the UK underground. With a love for anything holding a bit of swing, groove & sub, and an appreciation for the anything-goes approach of an after hours set, Yakup will be sure to close out the series with a drench of no-nonsense fun and a whole lot of stylish quirk.

End of the line.
