Microgrants for Podcasters are back, and this year, we’re doing things a little differently! ✨

Each month we’ll feature a different theme to inspire a variety of stories and styles.

We’re kicking things off in December 2025 with our first theme, Voices of Change.

This theme is about shining a light on communities, stories, and ideas that often go unnoticed in mainstream spaces.

We’re looking for podcast ideas and stories that amplify the unheard, the overlooked, and the underrepresented within the UK. From grassroots movements to cultural innovations, personal lived experiences to radical new ways of thinking. 📣

How do I apply?

The December grant application window is open from 17-31 October.

⚡️ Head to the Content is Queen MARKETPLACE (top link in the bio)

⚡️ Log in or set up your CREATOR PROFILE with as much info as you can - this will strengthen your application

⚡️ Click on the OPPORTUNITIES tab and submit a 3-5 sentence project proposal telling us about your idea

We’ll be selecting our winner and notifying them the week commencing 17 November. Funding and production support begins 4 December 2025 with 1:1 sessions every Thursday.

Applications will open on a rolling monthly basis, but you can only apply twice throughout the 12-month programme, so make sure to pick the themes that best fit your podcast idea. We’re sharing these now so you can plan your applications in advance. 😉

Swipe through, check out the latest news post on contentisqueen.org, then head to Marketplace to apply. 👏

Remember, this round is just for the December grant and new themes will go live every month thanks to the support from our friends at Audible. 😎

Share with your podcast friends and GOOD LUCK!

We can’t wait to hear your ideas for this one. 💙💙💙

It’s a certain very special production manager’s last week in the studio 😭 so we’re giving Amber her flowers at Content is Queen HQ today and celebrating her next steps with an in person team day (something we’ve not managed since IWPF!) before she heads off on her travels. 💐🌏

The studio is always quieter in the summer months as many of our lovely podcast community take a well-deserved rest from recording, and this year the team will be leaning into that restfulness too. ✌🏼

Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to book our studio and apply for micro-grants - links in the bio - but our newsletters, socials and production will be taking a break until later in the year. 😎

Wishing our lovely @amber_m.iller safe and happy travels and have a great summer everyone! 💙 by @contentisqueenhq

📣 Here’s Amber with some BIG news!

Yep, you heard it, after an incredible 6 years running the Content is Queen studio, the micro-grants programme, winning awards and working on too many productions to mention, she’s taking a well-earned sabbatical and is off on her travels! 🌏

We couldn’t be happier for her and wish her all the joy and exciting adventures to come. Needless to say we’ll miss her enormously but as she says, it’s not goodbye.

Don’t worry, you’ll still see some familiar faces at the CIQ studio as well as some new ones, so please continue to book in via Skedda and message us at studio@contentisqueen.org and one of the team will be in touch.

Thank you Amber for being an incredible CIQ team player and hasta pronto! 💙 by @contentisqueenhq

Introducing July’s Making Waves micro-grant winner, Clari Hatch with Creative Wrinkles - a podcast that investigates how communities learn to build systems of care, and what those efforts can teach us. 🙌🙌

Clari’s background brings together two fields of work: media production, including work at an NBC affiliate and university television, and more than thirteen years in human services and community advocacy, spanning youth programs, domestic violence services, and long-term care advocacy.

Here she is to tell us more about how the grant will support the first segment of the pilot which tells the story of a free breakfast for children program that sparked a movement, something that the team felt absolutely nailed the Making Waves theme. 🎯

A special thank you to our guest judge, Maria Passingham, producer and editor and editaudio and creator of Equal Parts podcast.

Thank you also to everyone who submitted a Making Waves pitch - we loved reading your incredible ideas and encourage you to keep exploring them.

Applications open tomorrow for the August grant - Learning Out Loud - so stay tuned for info!

🧡🤎💙

⭐️Community Spotlight ⭐️ This week we’re shining a light on The Grown-Ups Are Talking, hosted by Abby Thayananthan, freelance producer and IWPF attendee.

Abby started this podcast to make space for the questions we all have about adulthood. How do we ‘adult’? And how do we know that we’re doing it right?

The transition from college students/recent grads into fully-fledged adults can be a scary one. In this podcast, Abby and her guests reflect on all things ‘adult’ and figure it out as newborn adults together - from working life, navigating adult relationships and following our dreams, to making mistakes, dealing with rejection, and a lot more.

Go give it a listen and share the pod love, lovely people.💙

Meet June’s Roots & Routes Microgrant Winners! 🏆

Congratulations to the winning project - Memoria Transformista, Drag Memory, pitched to us by producer Javier Vásquez in collaboration with film student Cristopher Moraga which we felt really embodied the essence of the theme.

Memoria Transformista is a digital archive Cristopher has been building since 2021 that gathers stories, photographs, and testimonies from Chile’s drag scene, built through a close, respectful, and affectionate relationship with the community.

Here they are to tell you more about the project but before that, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who entered. We received well over 100 pitches for this month’s grant and enjoyed reading every single one of them. 🙏🏼💙
