If you haven’t checked out this furniture store yet, it’s so cool. Unexpectedly colorful, design forward, and with so many fun corners for us to get creative with.

Beautiful Superwomen, 🤍

I have been thinking about all of you since Built to Lead and wanted to send a heartfelt thank-you. The day was filled with so much reflection, laughter, connection, and beautiful energy, and I am deeply grateful to every woman who shared that room with us. I hope you left feeling encouraged, connected, and, most importantly, seeing yourself a little more clearly.

I created a short note for you as a small thank-you and continuation of the conversation we began together.

In addition to the journal you received, I also created a simpler and complimentary Take the Cape Off Reflection Guide. If the journal feels a little intimidating, this is a beautiful place to start. Spend a little time with it, and if it speaks to you, share it with another woman who may need that same invitation to pause and reflect. You can find the link in my bio.

He estado pensando mucho en todas ustedes desde Built to Lead y quería enviarles un agradecimiento de corazón. She didn’t even own an RV when she decided to become an RV travel blogger.

She didn’t have internet on her phone. She worked from Lowe’s parking lots, laundromats and libraries. She had a toddler, a dream and, as Liz calls him, a “was-band” who didn’t exactly understand what she was trying to build. 😂

But she started anyway.

That little RV blog eventually became a successful business, led her into email marketing, took her all the way to Survivor and ultimately to becoming the owner of Smart Passive Income.

You do not have to have it all figured out before you start. Sometimes you just have to decide you want something different and go for it.

I end every talk with this message: You are valuable and you are worthy SIMPLY because you exist.

It’s easy to forget in a society that rewards stress, busyness, and achievement over kindness, love, and simply being a good human.

I spent 29 years believe that if I wasn’t DOING something, I wasn’t valuable. So I worked from a place of unworthiness.

The crazy part is nobody ever asked me to prove anything..
They’d just ask “what do you do?” And I’d feel this panic rise, and I’d start listing every credential and ways I stayed busy, as if the right answer could earn me the right to be in the room.

Looking back, I see how exhausting and just completely unnecessary that was.

Then last year I was sitting deep in a meditation when these words arrived: “you are valuable and worthy simply because you exist.”

I instantly started bawling… straight up ugly crying… not because it was beautiful, but because somewhere deep down I realized I didn’t believe it… I had spent 29 years trying to earn something I had never actually lost.

So I made the decision to repeat those words over and over and over again until I actually believed it on a soul level.

Once that happened, everything changed.

I started creating from a space of play, abundance, and inspiration instead of scarcity, stress, and the need to prove myself.

I still want to do my best. I still have big dreams. I still love building things and making an impact. But now I get to do it cause I WANT to, not because I’m trying to prove I belong here.

That’s why I share this at the end of every talk. It’s a reminder for not only everyone in the room, but also myself.

Imagine what we could create if we all stopped building from the fear we’re not enough, and started building from the knowing that we already are simply by existing…

You don’t have to earn your worth. You were born into this world with it.

We want to build on the moon… yet we still haven’t figured out how to build for our own climate.

Mold in Florida gets treated like weather… something that happens to you. It isn’t. It’s a design outcome. Moisture management, ventilation strategy, assembly detailing, material selection: every one of these is a known, solved problem, and regions far more humid than the Gulf Coast are building successfully every day.

What we have is not a knowledge gap. It’s a standards gap, and a will gap.

The buildings we approve today become the health outcomes our communities live with for the next fifty years. That’s worth getting right.

If you’re building in a humid climate and you want to get this right from the start, let’s talk. That conversation is a lot cheaper than remediation.
