A DJ for over a decade, Jay has played at the likes of Glastonbury, Fusion Festival, and FOLD, alongside a growing international schedule. After five years holding a regular slot on Rinse FM, she now also covers for Martha on BBC Radio 1, highlighting new and underground electronic music.

Her sets are rooted in what she describes as “forest techno” – hypnotic, spacious, and dubby at their core, with sudden bursts of high-energy build/release. While 4/4 provides a foundation, her approach is unrestricted by genre or tempo, drawing from leftfield techno, bass, breaks, dubstep, jungle, and beyond.

As a producer, Jay has released on Wisdom Teeth, Neighbourhood, Tectonic, Ghosttown, Faux Poly, and more, with support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Martha, Jossy Mitsu, and Artwork, as well as airplay across Rinse FM, NTS, and both BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. Her contribution to Wisdom Teeth’s Club Moss compilation, “Mekosha”, drew comparison from RA to late-era Aphex Twin. She is also co-founder of Erbium Records which reached its twentieth release and fifth birthday in 2025. Through the label, she champions new and upcoming underground artists working across bass, techno, and breaks.

HALLOWEEN PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT 🎃🧛

We’ve invited one of London’s most on-form DJs, a tech house OG, one of Sheffield’s best parties, and a selection of our favourite local DJs for a three-room takeover of Hagglers Corner with a seriously spooky twist 👻

The Attikk will host a Control. takeover headlined by Jay Carder whose take on deep techno and leftfield bass has been causing a storm recently. She’s backed up by residents Dennis Roswell, Muad’Dib, and Wow & Flutter, while local legend TB-316 of Silicone Carbide rounds off this room’s line-up. This one’s for you if you wanna have it to seriously top tier electro and techno.

The Café will host a Grub Records takeover with Gideon Jackson leading the charge. A true figure of London’s underground, Gideon was there at the movement’s core, pushing vinyl-driven house and techno with serious style. We are so happy to have an absolute legend in the game joining us! Residents Aaron Dynamic and Joi L.F, plus Grub regulars The Doobskins, complete the Grub tech house takeover. SERIOUSLY we have wanted to put something mega on in the café for years, so this will be very special!

Finally, Bar Takk sees a takeover featuring top picks of local selectors we’ve seen come through the doors of Grub this year that have all impressed us with their immaculate vibes. Freddie Grisbi, ObviouslyAlex, Robyn Jade, Miss Sixty, and Norma are going to turn this room into the best spooky house party you’ve ever been to. No genre is safe and no tune is too fun or too creepy.

Hello everyone. I have some news to announce. My first 12” release is about to be released and to celebrate we are hosting a wee launch party this Saturday at Grub Records. Expect a day and night of techno and prog house sounds from acclaimed DJs plus the opportunity to get hold of this first release on wax first!

Produced by Grub Records’ very own Harry (Hypno Disc), the EP is a homage to the late 90s and early 00s TV show ‘Robot Wars’. Each track bears the name of a robot that took part in the wars and are produced from the perspective of that robot. The concept comes from an early fascination with this show and how it made the artist feel as someone growing up in the UK around 2000.

Recap on last Friday 😍😍😍😍😍

What a wicked fucking party. Probably our favourite we have done since the pipes room days RIP!

The energy in the room and crowd was fantastic. All DJs bought their A game. PLUS @_reptant with the live was just incredible!

Something really special about the vibe with a big sound system in a little basement, a couple of red lights, fuck tonnes of smoke and banging tunes <3

And that’s definitely the case with @hannah.d.__

We’ve had her mixes on rotation pretty much nonstop since discovering her a few of years ago, and they just get better and better. The Australia-based queen of all things 90s, Y2K, tech house, prog and tribal is best known for her wicked DJ sets, running her label @tsbu__ and co-running @mon.i.ker

We are stealing her fresh off her debut at @basssiani , and she’s only played in the UK a couple of times before, so it’s a real treat to have her joining us for not ONE but TWO intimate gigs across Sheffield and Nottingham.

On top of this, As Is’ @adam_aka_chapelwalk and Control.’s Aaron Dynamic meet once again in a tech house n progg off as old as time. We really fucking love The Model and can’t think of a better space to throw it down. Expect deep, dark and proggy witchcraft from Evil Woman to begin with, before classic peak-time Hannah D. Finally, we’ll be unleashing residents Muad’Dib and Dennis Roswell for the classic Control.™️ acid, techno and electro on The Model. This will be something really special x
