REACTION!!! to devotion getting its first spin on AM radio. I'm excited about this because I've only started listening to ABC Radio National and some other AM channels this year. I've spent a lot of it driving around the state for work and this time on the road has led me into the belly of the beast. The quality of guests, music and conversation never cease to amaze. It's the difference in programming pace that really hooks me - and yet they'll ensure you've never been more acutely aware of the time. I wrote devotion with Jackson and it's the opening track on my record. Thank you for following and listening by @controlplusme

my album i am your defender is out. my heart! my soul! it's a record for when you need a friend. a voice. fucked up nights, long drives, anxious walks. for when you're lonely. i hope it makes you feel like life's incomprehensibility is its most beautiful feature. shoot me - i don't think anyone else has made a record like this. that gives me hope and makes me feel strong and cool. i hope you feel strong and cool too. thanks for everyone who has helped me along the way. i love you with everything i got. everything! by @controlplusme

Rooted in Australia’s emerging indie-folk scene, @controlplusme draws inspiration from artists such as Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Big Thief, and Real Estate.

His upcoming 33 track album “i am your defender” out July 17th, is his most intimate and fully realized body of work to date, a telling of deeply personal stories of love, grief, addiction, family, and hope into a quiet meditation on what it means to protect the people, and the parts of ourselves we are most afraid of losing. by @controlplusme

album art for i am your defender - film on aluminum etching by my friend annabel sutton @annaabebe - i wanted annabel to make the album cover for me since i started recording it. she's an incredible artist i've admired since i was a teenager and i resonate with her work deeply.. she told me that this building just beyond her family's property used to scare her as a kid. she now feels close to it in spirit. i am your defender releases july 17 :) by @controlplusme
