There is still something in us that is trying to understand what happened in those days 🪻

We are still in awe of how much moved, opened and transformed. And we are still very much in love with our team, with this place, and with everyone who was part of it.

And we made a decision: Convento Festival is now Convento Ceremony.

Because when we look at what we are actually doing together, “festival” never really felt like the right word.

For us, it is a big Ceremony, where foolish sacredness infuses each moment. It is about remembering that we belong to each other and to something bigger than ourselves.

in the hills of Italy there’s this old monastery where we grew up,
and every summer it slowly turns into something that’s hard to fully explain —
not really a festival, not really a retreat, more like a space where people actually meet each other beyond all the roles they usually carry.

It’s family-run, but also deeply shaped by the people who come,
so it never feels like something that’s just organized for you,
it feels more like stepping into something alive.

We invite artists who are not only incredible at what they do,
but who are also on a path themselves —
people who care about what’s real, who are willing to feel, to listen,
to be with what’s there instead of constantly trying to turn themselves into something better.

There’s no pressure to arrive as a “better version” of yourself.
It’s more about having the space to actually look at what’s there, together, without pretending.

And yeah, it all happens in the middle of summer, in Italy,
with good food, long nights, and that very specific kind of beauty this place carries.

@cinallifrancesca uses objects to explore movement and fine attunement in the group. paolo constructs a sound carpet, and suddenly you find yourselves in an instant ritual, emerging spontaneously from the moment.

these photos were taken during one of the explorations. after the body only experience, we come together and share verbally what moved us.

this year we’ve installed a large outdoor kitchen so everyone can cater for themselves, cook together, and bring exactly what they need.

This helps us keep our ticket-only festival price intentionally affordable: no mandatory meal package, no unnecessary extras — just more freedom, community, and a home away from home.

Between the kitchen roof and fairy lights, tents in the woods, and all the lovingly curated details, our little festival village brings a new life to convento. 🧡

We loved seeing these men at Convento.

Playing music. Sitting in silence. Laughing with someone. Listening. Being part of it.

We often see fewer men in spaces like this. And looking at yourself can be hard, especially if you’ve learned to keep your feelings inside and carry things on your own.

So we’re grateful for the men who came. For being curious, for questioning yourselves, and for letting yourselves be here. Each in your own way.

There was joy in that. And more room for all of us to be human together.

Maybe something is shifting.

For a long time, qualities like softness, emotional openness, care, intuition, receptivity and the ability to create a sense of home were often seen as feminine.

And often, they were undervalued.

We feel that something is changing.

Not because these qualities belong to women. They don’t.

But because we are remembering how much they matter.

To be able to feel what is happening inside us.
To let emotions move instead of pushing them away.
To care for ourselves and for each other.
To create spaces where we can soften.
To listen.
To receive.
To feel safe enough to be real.

At Convento, we want to make space for these qualities.

Not as something separate from strength, clarity, action or intensity, but as another part of being human.

Maybe this is part of what we mean when we say:

wake up to your humanness.

Jenny - A woman that completed her training as a wilderness experiential educator. To pass, she had to spend one day and one night completely on her own in the wilderness. Just her and her backpack.

Somewhere along the way this little moth appeared.

At first she kept trying to get rid of her, but she just wouldn’t leave. After a while Jenny noticed that somehow she actually felt safer with her around.

The moth stayed with her for the whole day, spent the night with her in this tiny hut in the mountains and was still there the next morning.

What started as this random little visitor became her companion through the whole experience and something she sees as her spirit animal today.

So we brought her onto her skin.

The plants I designed around the moth are symbolic of Convento, the place where we tattooed this piece. A place that became really special and sacred to her, to me and I think to many of us who got to experience it together.

Blessed we were able to tattoo outside, under the stars in Tuscany, right next to the bamboo forest and the spring.

Community.

Community is what we long for.

There is something so precious about feeling part of a group. People coming together, sensing themselves and each other, staying present with what is here. Not only the beautiful and easy parts, but also the intensities, the edges, the things that move through us.

When we meet like this, the field expands. There is more space to drop in, soften, relax, and remember something we so easily lose in our strange Western lives.

We are deeply grateful to all the beautiful souls who came to Convento and created this field with us. A field of humility, groundedness, open hearts, truth, authenticity, and space for everything that is present.

This is at the heart of our vision for Convento.

To create a space where we can remember what we actually long for, and how life could feel. To plant a seed in the body, so that new possibilities can grow from something we have actually experienced.

Maybe this is part of the waking up that humanity is asking for.

Coming back to old ways, but with new hardware. Like a spiral, returning to something we already knew, but arriving with new tools.

And now the invitation is to bring these tools into our everyday lives. Into how we meet each other, how we listen, how we relate, how we make decisions, and how we create together.

Not just remembering for a few days, but letting what we experienced at Convento become something we practice and live.

Every time we go through the pictures from last year, we find new stunning shots. And every time, our hearts make a little jump of joy.

We feel so connected to this field of Convento, and it feels like it’s still growing, slowly becoming more of itself.
