Our first Oktoberfest pop-up market of the season is coming up this Saturday at the German American Social Club in Miami (@gasc.miami): it’s the annual Oktoberfest of GIPA, the German International Parents Association. It’s open to all, and it’s a lighter version of Oktoberfest Miami, which begins the following Friday night and runs two full weekends (October 9 through 11 and October 16 through 18). GIPA Oktoberfest is more family oriented. The Convivio Bookworks pop-up market will be almost fully stocked for GIPA Oktoberfest… some things are still on their way from Germany, but there’s a wonderful selection of German handicrafts and more awaiting you already. GIPA Oktoberfest is this Saturday, October 3, from 12 noon to 7 PM. All are welcome!

Current project on the press. Two presses, actually: one inked in black, the other in red. A prayer for anyone who needs one, courtesy of @janesiberry, who wrote the words. Simple & strong, words on white felt the best approach, to me anyway. Handset metal types. Come print your copy on Friday 9/18 from noon to 5 PM at the Type High Day celebration at @jaffecenterforbookarts. Can’t be there? Talk to me; we can figure out a way for you to get one.
