Some detail loops from my kid fort video from a few weeks back. The last one was the first animation I made for the video and it... didn't make the final cut! I really liked what I did but I just didn't have the room at the beginning for it that I thought I would.

A few months back, I had my first design show, hosted by Doane University where I teach motion design. It went really well! Surreal to see the closest things to my "life's work" projected on the walls around us. The show included a portfolio of my professional work that I've done through freelancing and other studios as well as student projects and loads of animated artwork I've created. All in all, it dated back to ten years of animation and design and lots and lots of growth. The show was called OVERTURE, as it felt to me like something of a preview or promise of what I've done but more importantly what I can and will do as I continue to grow and change over time. So here are some interstitial animations I made for the show that played at different times in between the portfolio of work. I meant to share them a long time ago and never got around to it. Enjoy. ✌️💖

We built a FORTRESS for the kids this spring and I set up a sophisticated camera to capture a full Timelapse of the action and then meticulously edited it down to the best moments.

So here's somethin'! I have put together my first solo design show for the Rall Gallery at @doaneuniversity in Crete, Nebraska. I'm coming up on my third semester teaching motion design and was incredibly honoured to be asked to do this showcase. It features animation and motion design from my school days, personal projects I've done over the years, and client work from the three studios I've been employed at over the last ten years. I also created some cute interstitial animations to run throughout the show that I'll share here at a later time. If you happen to be in Nebraska this holiday season, go check it out (it's free!) but I mostly just wanted to acknowledge that I worked really hard on this and it's surreal to see the last decade of my life in front of me and I can't thank the @doane_art_design program enough for making this possible. Thanks especially to Chelsey and Kailin, without whom this never would've come together. And as always, my wife Amy who kept the ship running while I was working into the wee hours of the night for three weeks to finish this thing.
Happy holidays everyone! ✌️💖

Hey everyone! Whelp, I gon and done it. And by "it" I mean I finally made my freelance work a bit more official by starting a full company. I'll still share fun stuff here just as much as always (so, pretty sporadically lol) but if you'd care to follow my work or have a page to send folks to that you know are looking for help in motion, video editing, or design, then feel free to follow my new business page @stevefilmltd but no worries either way (there's that classic midwestern charm, eh?)
And my apologies to anyone friends or fam that I didn't give a heads up to on this haha. Things moved pretty quickly once I started going and, well, now we're here hehe.

Happy Godzilla Day!!

Today, the big guy turns 70 (wow) and I turn 31 (oh my) so, uhm, yeah, I guess you could say it’s a pretty important day for everyone.

My new tattoo was illustrated by me, inspired by the 1992-1994 Godzilland series directed by Seinosuke Tanaka & Osamu Nakayama. It was inked by the amazing and kind @13maegan13 at @dearyoutattoo in KCK. Show her some love (she’s the best).

Feel free to use this design if you're in the market for a cute goji tat.

Have a safe and fun day y'all. And remember: Godzilla loves YOU and hates the GOVERNMENT 💖

Um... guys? Yeeahhh, you're gonna want to see this 😳😯
I've got some... extra time on my hands these days 😅 so I'm offering it up to make some more of what I really enjoy doing, at a limited offer discounted price! And as always, hit me up for any other animation or illustration work (album art, logos, gig posters, promo clips, t-shirts, books, whatever the hell). I love working with other small independent artists as well as bigger, more "established" acts and my prices are ALWAYS NEGOTIABLE. 🤙
PS, don't worry-- that cartoon of me IS wearing clothes! They're just really really small and tight and sexy. ✌️💛
