First Kansas tag punched!
I was lucky enough to draw my first year applying. After months of planning, scouting, and watching this buck since July, it all came together on the third day of bow season at 15 yards. Kansas is a special place, and this is one I’ll never forget! Thank you lord!

The story has come to an end on this old grandpa buck! I’ve had this deer on just about every camera I’ve hung on the farm since 2021. Watched him grow through the years and even passed him last season as a 5.5+ hoping he’d make that big jump into a giant. When he showed back up on October 2nd after disappearing all summer, he looked about the same, maybe even a little smaller. That’s when I knew he was a definite shooter. An old warrior that had run his course was exactly the kind of mature management buck I was after this year.

Couldn’t ask for a better ending to a long story with one of the most familiar deer I’ve ever had on the farm. Grateful for the chase, the history, and the memories that came with finally putting my tag on the old man himself. #etxhunt taken in East Texas by @cooperrrhill
