When did getting up from the couch become a whole event?

You stretch, change your pillow, blame yesterday's workout… and still wonder why your body feels different.

There's a reason we're talking about it this month. October is Menopause Awareness Month, and the International Menopause Society made chronic pain in midlife the theme of this year's World Menopause Day on October 18. About half of women in midlife live with chronic pain, and much of it gets written off as aging.

Joints are a good place to start. Swipe for where it shows up, when to get it checked, and why a bad night's sleep can turn up the volume.

Where do you feel it most: hands, knees, hips, shoulders or back? by @coraltothrive

If you’ve been wondering where to start, this conversation is for you.

We sat down with Fiona, our CEO and co-founder, to introduce our new program, the Initial Menopause Consultation, and answer your questions about what it includes, who it’s for, and how it differs from our other programs.

You don’t need to overhaul every area of your life at once.

Nutrition, movement, sleep, mental well-being, reducing risky habits and community all help support your health span.

Which pillar has received the least attention from you this month?

Dry eyes. A mouth that never feels quenched. Skin that's suddenly itchy no matter how much lotion you use. Three complaints that feel completely unrelated, so most women mention them to three different people (or nobody at all).

The thing is... they may not be unrelated. Estrogen receptors sit in your tear glands, your salivary glands, your skin, and your vaginal tissue. When estrogen starts fluctuating, all of that tissue feels it, sometimes around the same time.

If you've been treating your dry mouth, your eye doctor visits, and your skin routine like three separate problems, this is your sign to zoom out.

The lunches are packed, the routines are back and the back-to-school rush is finally starting to settle. Now it’s time to put yourself back on the list.

Taking care of your health doesn’t mean changing everything at once. The six pillars of lifestyle medicine (nutrition, movement, sleep, mental well-being, reducing risky behaviours and community) are built through small, repeated actions.

Choose the pillar that needs your attention most and start with one realistic change.

Your phone isn’t the only thing running out of storage. 😅

Between symptoms, appointments, work, family and everything else, your brain can start flashing “storage almost full.”

Coral helps you step back, connect the dots and move forward with a personalized care plan.

Are my symptoms hormonal or is something else going on?

Sleep disruption, fatigue, low libido, dry skin, night sweats, raging because your partner ate all the ice cream.

Everything is hormonal… or is it? That’s exactly why we launched the Initial Menopause Consultation. It includes comprehensive bloodwork, including hormone testing and an in-depth visit with your nurse practitioner. You'll leave with answers about your health before you decide what's next, including hormone therapy if it's right for you.
