Place is one of the most useful cues to teach your pup. It’s essentially stay on a specific spot. This could be a dog bed, mat at the front door, a spot on the couch, or any defined spot you want your dog to stay. I like to give each place a name (bed, mat, couch, etc) but you can name your dog’s place whatever you want. Just be consistent with your words. We work on building a solid place cue in Puppy Kindergarten and Adult Obedience. As you can see here, Bodhi, Ovi, and Gunnar are doing a fantastic job.

Ronan, Frida, Fraser, and Hunter graduated Puppy Kindergarten!! One of my favorite things about this class is our off leash socialization time. Some pups are ready to make new friends right away, while others take some time to warm up. We always make sure everyone is having a good time and isn’t being overwhelmed. This process often helps the shy dogs to warm up and want to join in on the fun. This was the case for Fraser. She was hesitant to play the first week, but each week she warmed up a little more. By our last week she was playing with the rest of the pups and having a great time! 🎉🎓

Relaxation can be tough for many dogs, especially around distractions. In our Middle School class we teach the pups how to settle on command. During the last week we take our skills outside, which is often one of the most challenging places for dogs to relax.
