Street Walkin’ Cheetah with a Heart full of Beebalm 🌺
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’m 27 years old. I’m the bass player in the coolest new band to his the scene, Nashville Pussy. We lived in a band house in Athens, GA. Called ‘Pussy Manor.” Amsterdam at ‘Melkweg’(I think) 11/22/98 - This was the show you saw us play, anywhere and everywhere you saw us play. Without fail. Every night.

THE FINALE- Uncle Ted’s ‘Wang Dang Sweet Potang’ - these are the last 9 min of a thirteen minute version we did as the finale. We never played encore’s. “This is a little love song, I want to dedicate this to all that Nashville Pussy, it’s called WANG DANG SWEET POTANG!” Double Live Gonzo gave us our name and this was our ‘Thank you.’ In 98’ we had been on the road for three straight years, our shit was tight.

I just watched this and can I please say that Ruyter Suys is one of the best Female guitarists alive! Ladies take notes, cause this is how you do it. Sister can play. She can move. She is ONE with her instrument, the female Angus Young. Period. and REMO aka Jeremy holding down that groove you’d think it was Phil Rudd behind them drums. Then there’s Mr. Blaine Cartwright, James Brown lovin’, Chuck Berry riffing, Yosemite Sam stompin Mastermind that made every man that came to our show regardless of size, stature or even hair… believe that he could be king. He was our Lemmy.

THE KISS-was part of the show, that means we did it every night. Most nights it was fun- it was a moment we had together just the two of us, our eyes were locked, talking to each other by playing. It was our dance, even when we didn’t like each other that day. Let me tell ya- someone gettin bit on that night fo sho. Sometimes she would pull down my bra so my nipple popped out, as the next part of the song was just bass/drums so I couldn’t stop playing to try and pop it back in….this was one of those nights. Nashville Pussy always came to play…and play we did @nashville_p_u_s_s_y I

I got invited to do another Blues Jam night last night with the boys... facing my fears about getting on stage and just jamming with no rehearsals. So on Thursday’s it’s at a joint called ‘The House’ which is a massive building that’s split into two. One half is the night club and the other half is a Church. I shit you not. It has been there FOREVER and it’s mainly a black club in south Durham. It serves the best soul food in three county’s. Its super laid back, everyone was really nice and I was able to play with new people and wing it.. which is literally my showing up to school naked moment. Which where I’m asking to come up on stage and I’m totally lost and have no idea what notes they are playing and have to just drop out and stand there. These two clips are of Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Killing Floor’ and Otis Rush ‘Cut you loose’ Man it felt good. The whole thing. I don’t understand why anyone would just sit there room and play alone? It’s only with others that the real magic happens. Mick Fleetwood said “You CAN do it by yourself, but I guarantee if you do it with other people your going to be a much happier person.” Thanks again for having me gentlemen, the pleasure was all mine. by @corey_parks

This first shot was taken at a Camp Freddy show at the Roxy sometime in 2008. This is obviously post boob job.. Before I got em done, I would say I was about a full A to small B cup. Which is fine and beautiful, but I was always tall and skinny, since I was 4...I looked the same, like a pencil or maybe Joey Ramone. I wanted something on my body for the first time that was full and round and bouncy. So in 99' after the big record deal I got them. However, right before that I discovered in London from a stylist for Ross Halfin these things called "chicken cutlets" which are flesh colored semi circular raw cutlet feeling things you would slip into your bra underneath to push up what the good lord gave ya and they would look and feel real outside the bra. Soooo if you've ever been to a Nashville Pussy show, we played hard and we played fast. Eventually to keep from passing out in small packed clubs, me and Ruyter’s shirts came off and we were just in our bras(playing our asses off BTW- it was never "like that” like just trying to be sexy, you what I mean if you ever saw our show) Anyway, we were on the road opening for Motorhead and I walked off stage after one of the shows..huffing and puffing, my ears were buzzing as usual, only to looked down and noticed that one of my boobs was bigger than the other. Oh my God! Holy shit it came out onstage!! I frantically went back to the stage and looked everywhere- under cords, behind my amp, under the monitors, nothing....I was horrified. Did everyone in the audience see it falling out?!! Did the roadies have it? Was I was about to get fucked with for the rest of the tour? I went back to my dressing room and dried off. I put on dry clean clothes and washed my face. What a nightmare. Then there was at knock on the dressing room door... it was Lemmy. He came directly over to me, gave me a big bear hug, told me I had a great show and reached over to hold my hand. There he placed the chicken cutlet...and in my ear he whispered "I think you dropped this." I looked at him and wanted to cry. My protector. We both laughed and he said, "now bung that thing in there and let's go get a drink."♠️ by @corey_parks

Happy Birthday mom… we love you so much. The matriarch of our family. The wayshower. The consistency and honor with which you do everything. My rock solid and roll wth the punches. My teacher. My best friend and girls girl. My step up co-parent, who thank God knows everything about basketball and raised a champion. My living example who never talked shit about our dad. My guiding light. My mom. My everything.

I can’t remember who made this reel, but Thank You. Every day I’m so grateful for all those who have crossed my path. People I’ve had the honor of playing with over the last 30 years. All my band mates that brought my dreams to life. I’m a ride or die kinda gal...it’s the camaraderie and the magic that happens when everything comes together and your blood starts pumping, lightning shooting out of your fingertips. All as one. As we work and weave our strange magic. There is nothing like it.

Though the love that lives deep in my heart is for the fans. When I look out from that stage and gaze down at all your faces and look into your eyes….you remind me of who I AM. Because I forget everyday. Thank you for that extraordinary gift. I love you 💋 by @corey_parks

Holy shit I have never seen this. Frankie Goes to Hollywood performing ‘Relax’ on some German TV show in 1984. Just Keep your eyes peeled at the break when the lights go down. You’ll never believe our favorite Captain, the black Bart of Rock and Roll enters stage right. In the fashion of our beloved Chuck Berry, he duck walks across the stage playing a Telly! How on earth did this happen?! I have so many questions…I wish I had seen this when I could get them all answered. I love how he immeadiatly stops playing when the smoking hot blonde in black lace lingerie enters the stage and walks toward the singer Holly Johnson who pretends to be interested.

I get why they hid it from us, like George Micharl. All the young teenage girls, like myself, would have been devistaded to learn we never had a chance, our teenage fantasies blown to smithereines…

Looking back now at all the harnesses, cod pieces, black leather and studs, I can’t believe how obvious it was. Awe..but my little girl brain in 1983 had never even kissed a boy….AND the music business is in the business of making money. Back then it was just selling records and playing shows. Which for groups like Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Wham! , we’re like 95% teenage girls.

I love at the end where Lemmy walks over, stands close behind her and whispers in her ear(yet another question I would ask) ‘what did you say to her?’ Cause you know he played the role to the nine’s. Faking anything was not part of his lexicon. He’d do that like he did everything in his life.

It ends with him putting his arm around her and walking her off stage and into the night. To Lemmy, it was just another day at the office. Cheers!💋

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we lost you…I remember it like it was yesterday. Lem could never have imagined this new world we live in. Everyone policing each other in the shame Olympics where instead of medals, your life and legacy gets ruined forever. This is definitely not his style. Maybe he had the forbearing and left the party before they turned on the flood lights, took your drinks and made everyone leave.

Thank you for always just being you, for staying true. Thank you for your service to rock and roll for 50+ years and most importantly showing me the importance of how you treat your fans.

I’ll share something with you, when you went over to Lemmy’s apartment which he lived in for decades, right off Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, the very first thing you notice when you walk in, is all the stuff. I mean the walkway that went from the front door - to his bedroom and bath and then led past the front door and back into the living room and into the kitchen. On either sides of the path the stuff begins at the floor and makes its way up the ceiling. Every square in each had something on it. All his favorite collectibles in glass cases or mounted straight in. Side by side with all the things his fans had ever made or given to him. Proudly on display, all your Motörhead fan art and drawings and figurines, and cool shit you somehow got to Lemmy. It was everywhere. When he came home from tours his sanctuary was a wall to wall museum of all Motörhead tributes he got from all of you. The Motörheadbangers. He was a living example for all us poor sods in bands the most important lesson. Without the fans who support us, we are nothing. He never forgot that.
