POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In addition to my videography/editing reel, here is a demo reel I made a few years ago in college as one of my final senior projects. This is a director/actor’s reel consisting of all the projects of recent times I have worked on and/or acted in, whether they be my own or others’. My acting is definitely not the strongest of my abilities, but I am still learning and studying and working on being versatile and multifaceted. Slowly, but surely, we will get there. 🙏🏾 #acting #directing #producing #writing #filmmaker #demoreel by @coreydvisionarydavis

Here is my videography/editing reel consisting of some of my works over the recent years, and this is not even half of it. I am very proud to be growing stronger in my creative pursuits. I cannot wait to add more stuff to my portfolio.

Sincerely,
Corey Dvisionary

Business cards have been updated with my new stage name. If I ever gave anyone my old cards with “Corey Djokester” as my socials, disregard them. It is “Corey Dvisionary” now. by @coreydvisionarydavis

5 years ago, I attended my very first film festival and screening with my first short film produced in college, Scissors (2019). Today, I had the honor and privilege of attending the American Motion Pictures Festival with my first short film produced post-college, The Test (2022). Each of these projects are significant because one marks the beginning of my college journey and one marks the end of the journey. I would like to thank American Motion Pictures Festival for showing “The Test” alongside other films and even giving it an Honorable Mention. It is always a wonderful experience being seen alongside other people. I am blessed to see a dream I have had since I was a kid keep coming true. Thank you to all who tune in. Here’s to more. #film #director #filmmaker by @coreydvisionarydavis

“The Death of the White Knight” shares two overarching themes: one explores the nuances of having a savior complex and the other one is underlying. We all have old habits we are ashamed of. We all have a past we would like to forget, and you know what, it is ok to let the old habits die hard. Sometimes the one version of yourself that gave you comfort is the one version you have to leave behind. Some people may cling on to your old habits. Some may even refuse to acknowledge the growth, but you must give yourself as much grace as you can and be proud of how far you have come.

“The Death of the White Knight” is on my YT Channel: ‘Corey Dvisionary.’ Check it out to explore these themes further. #film #director #introspection #creator by @coreydvisionarydavis

I have another video on the way. It is another introspective video journal. You can kind of guess what this subject matter will be about. Hopefully, some people out there will relate.

‘Imposters Among Us’ is coming late October.

Stay tuned. #filmmaker #director #creator #film by @coreydvisionarydavis

I used to be that one filmmaker and creator who wanted to delete all his old content, content that was so cringeworthy that it would give you PTSD. Now, I realize that those old projects serve as lessons and reminders of how far I have come on my creative journey. I will keep them up as motivation for me to do better. Moral of the story: keep your old projects no matter how bad or amateur they are. Who you WERE is not a reflection of who you ARE. At the same time, the past can be used as a tool to help you unlock more skills and be the best version of yourself in your current journey. Sometimes, to get to where you are going, you must first appreciate where you have been 🎬. #filmmaker #director #storyteller #visionary by @coreydvisionarydavis

Sometimes, the main antagonist of your story is the person you see in the mirror. The conflict is rather internal than external. We can be our own worst critics and our own worst enemies. Nevertheless, give yourself some grace.

Today officially marks 10 years since I have made my first feature-length film and the first film of mine to be at least two hours long. Although I am not at all proud of this project in terms of its writing, cinematography, directing, editing, and even acting, I am proud of the fact that at the sheer age of 15, I had enough guts to make something that I believed in at the time. I appreciate this film for existing because it lets me know now what and where I need to improve in terms of my craft. Thank you to those who have supported and still support me in my filmmaking endeavors. Here’s to many more years of creating. The full anniversary video is on my YouTube Channel.
