It has finally happened. I read the trilogy for the first time in December of 2020, took a break to mend my heart before picking up Iron Gold and realizing I remembered nothing, pausing again for 2 more years and then, finally, committing to re-reading the series (something I rarely do these days).

My only regret is that I did not pick up the graphic audio sooner because BLOODY DAMN is it good. Dare I say, better than the virginal physical read. I don’t know, will update when I physically read Dark Age for the first time here soon. Wish my heart luck pls.

IT MUST BE SAID I was in part inspired by this absolutely amazing, beautiful, incredible, goosebump inducing rendition of Eo’s song by the insanely talented @erikawhitus thank you for sharing your gifts with us 🙏

photo dump of some things I’ve been reading over the last month or two 🌸

Liminal Zone was the first Junji Ito work I genuinely liked, excited to get to volume 2 soon. Still need to move on to his more popular work though, I w only read the smaller one-offs.

Witch Hat Atelier is a re-read for the anime 💖 such a cute story and the most beautiful art. I’m not fully caught up in the anime but I’ve heard it takes a turn to a more deep/serious tone so I’m stoked for that too.

Been making my way slowly through A Darker Shade of Magic, haven’t done much physical reading lately, which is the only thing slowing me down. Been enjoying it so far and am about 50% through!

Real ones know why this is the song 💔

This is my second cosplay and I think I’m officially in love with it. Had so much fun being the Angel Devil and can’t wait to do it again.

Alone With You In The Ether ✨ 4.75 ⭐️

posted a reel chatting about it but wanted to give it more love here. I felt so seen by this book and was even more moved to hear Olivie Blake wrote it from her own experiences. Mental health affects more than the source who’s suffering and the awareness of that just compounds the negative self view. This book shows that in such a beautifully subtle way 🖤

The last half of February was rough. I haven’t read too much or felt like being online or socializing outside of my personal circle, but such is the cyclical nature of life.

I did finally get back to Full Metal Alchemist ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I read volume 2 and have since acquired volume 3 from the library. I’m still loving this series, it has some of my favorite themes. Love the balance between right and wrong that so many things in here straddle the line of and the righteousness of the religious in here using their religion as the excuse to use the same evil they condemn to rid the world of the very same thing.

Also read Operation Bounce House ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .5
As a member of the Dungeon Crawler Carl cult, this book was hard but necessary to separate from dcc and any expectations based on it. I struggled to connect with and care about the characters, but I’m also (if you couldn’t tell) a big these girl. And I loved the themes present in this story and felt they were conveyed really well. Very anti-AI, very anti-colonization, very anti-blind war. So while I don’t know how much it’ll last in my memory, I enjoyed all my time reading it.

Early last week photo dump.

I picked up Orange volume 1 knowing nothing about it (or rather, believing it to be a light slice of life romance) in hopes of gaining a bonus to the death saving throws finishing Part 1 of Chainsaw Man had caused.

Alas, I gained another +5 emotional damage as it was, in fact, a story about grief and regret as it follows a girl using time travel in a way to reconcile some of her deepest regrets in hopes of preventing a close friend from taking his own life. It was absolutely beautiful however and I am eagerly awaiting the release of my library loan for volume 2. It’s sitting at ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ right now.

Additionally, the pillow bath was born after I prepped the candles and fixings for a bath before remembering I do not have a stopper.
