Corsica, an island of ice cream whipped limestone, rocks textured like the back of armadillos and pirate picture ‘windows’.

Above the clouds, apocalyptic roads and wild boars cross your path, flappy ears run to meet you, snatching fruit from their siblings and running back to the bush.

Calanques de Piana. Best before dusk or dawn when the granite sings all of her rusty tones. Look for the heart.

Peace as you walk through the most beautiful cemetery, sat on the edge of a cliff, tombstones engulfed by the med, standing proud as the sun sets behind.

A quick contrast as you head back to sea level, white table clothed restaurants and bathers on beaches. A bamboo clad beach shack with an overpriced sarong entices you for the entirety of the trip but falls flat when home and ends up as the main wood polish cloth.

Just as you’ve got somewhat bronzed you’ll scurry to find your gloves at the start of the hike you had previously planned the night before over a carafe Corsican wine.

Met by a statuesque, wire haired, gun dog named Arthur, pronounced Arrrter, of course. Balls the size of the circus. Sat lovingly looking up through the lashes, wanting biscuits and a back scratches. taken in Corsica, France by @corinnewalder
