EXHIBITOR

There Will Be Tomorrows is a futures collective built on active hope and prefiguration. We meet twice monthly for three hour sessions plus host events for the public.

Hosted by PRAKSIS, TWBT bridges arts and activism by stimulating experiments in radical imagination through a commons for post-capitalist skills and knowledge.

As a community, we collaborate on ideas and values that offer a basis for liveable futures and alternatives to oppressive capitalist systems. In our group we have LARPers, mid-career artists, multiple Phds, Phd candidates, photographers, musicians , a costume designer, climate scientist, climate activists, a business woman and other interesting folks.

The collective has core members but is also open to others and the public. We function by prototyping, disseminating ideas, radical alternative education, social practice art and creating visual arts. by @coriready.world

Here’s just one way of ushering in our future world and how we want to live in it. 🌱

September 5, 2026, @newsunsnewsuns helped bring There Will Be Tomorrows: All Possible Worlds to @praksisoslo (Oslo’s transnational platform for art, research and learning).

It was a full day of speculative worldbuilding, collective care, zine-making, reflection, botanical mocktails and community building.

Together, we stepped into the year 2056, imagining an autonomous community making the decision to start over. We asked:

→ How might we build worlds that actually support our needs?
→ What does it mean to organize care collectively?
→ How do we make our interdependence visible?

Through role play, conversation, collage, writing and drawing, the day became a little lab for possible futures. There Will Be Tomorrows Collective is @bye.borg @artandenvironment @alexveryok @mainacamilla @coriready.world @iotarho and others on diff days! We convene biweekly to create art work and experiments around radical imagination, building a commons for post capitalist liveable futures and more! You can join too! The week of August 10–14, we hosted the first pilot iteration of the New Suns Independent Graduate School Artist Residency in Vermont.

We gathered at our @newsunscommunitycenter in East Thetford, Vermont, a space with an auditorium + stage, ceramics studio, two kitchens, a Liberation Lending Library + reading room (aka makeshift sewing studio), and THREE PIANOS.

We were incredibly lucky to have our own Taylor Barnes @fulljoyfarm with us to teach the cohort three days of intensive improvisational movement + dance - experiments in writing, performance, sound, and embodied practice.

Our small pilot cohort brought together multidisciplinary artists working across textiles, music composition, dance, puppeteering, printmaking, and multi-instrumentation. Throughout the week, we also took field trips into the local community. Importantly: the residency was family-friendly.

Kids ages 4, 10, 12, and 13 joined us throughout the week—making, playing, learning, and experimenting alongside the adults.

The experiment is:

🌱 interdisciplinary
🤝 collaborative
🌎 land-based
👧🏽👩🏽‍🎨 intergenerational
☀️ based in radical imagination

We’re trying things. Learning by doing. That type of thing. taken in Vermont U.S.A by @coriready.world

What might a liveable, post-capitalist future look and feel like—and how could we begin to build it together? 🌿

There Will Be Tomorrows (TWBT) is an interdisciplinary, collectively organised group centred on post-capitalist desire, liveable futures and social sufficiency. Join us for a day of collective imagination, world-building and participatory storytelling. Through a series of co-creation workshops, we will explore possible futures for Oslo and consider how alternative ways of living and organising society might begin to take shape in our everyday lives.

 📆 Saturday 5 September, 11:00–18:00

📍 PRAKSIS, 2nd floor, Anatomigården, Rådhusgata 19, 0158 Oslo

We recommend signing up in advance and staying for the whole day if you are able. Everyone is welcome, and it is also possible to attend for part of the programme. A detailed schedule and information about the individual workshops will be shared soon.

Fieldnotes: Oslofjord

I volunteered with @mareaoslo and @marinreparatorene while they collected seaweed for their restoration work. We gathered mother kelp and cut the seaweed blades before packing them into @seaweed_solutions , where they will release spores to grow sporophytes in the lab.

The experience made me revisit the work of the late marine biologist #rachelcarson and consider how I can connect her observations with my own practice as a scientific illustrator.

Carson wrote about colour as an indicator of an ecosystem’s condition. She described green coastal waters, in all their shifting hues, as the colour of life. Through that lens, I returned to the fjord and looked at it differently.

I focused on the colours at the surface and began to notice the contrast between clear water and the more common brown-green water, which limits visibility. These colours can reflect the effects of nutrient runoff, wastewater, sediment, and other pressures on the ecosystem.

Colour, colour, colour—I keep thinking about it and wondering what it can reveal. These days I am thinking more carefully about what the fjord is showing us, and about the role visual communication can play in help return our attention to the sea.

Our current cohort at the New Suns Experimental Arts Graduate school visited the Osaka native Tadao Ando designed Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art as part of our time as @airk.kobe Artists in Residence in Kobe and then we were bummed to find that the whole permanent collection was temporarily closed. BUT, don’t despair dear reader because what we got instead was dope and more than we bargained for. A show called Anti-Action:
Artist-Women’s Challenges and Responses in Postwar Japan an exhibition on Japanese female artists working in the 1950s–60s avant-garde period.
Following World War II, abstract art movements such as “Informel” (non-formal abstraction) gained influence in Japan through international exchange (like what we were doing there in Kobe). During this period, many women artists were active and visible within the avant-garde.🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵
However, with the later rise of masculinity associated “action painting” and its critical framing around concepts such as physicality, bold gesture, and expressiveness many of these women artists we saw and their practices received reduced historical attention to this present day. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
The temporary exhibition presents approximately 120 works by 14 artists. It’s a powerful show made more so by the fact that is only women but that their work intentionally doesn’t stay in “feminized lanes” strong quotes! you KNOW what I MEAN, like the carework of childbearing, mothering etc. It expresses the complete person inclusive both of their femalehood and inclusive of their subjects as members of a society dealing with atomic trauma, historical rupture, rapid modernization/consumerisation. We saw work by Akana Keiko, Akutagawa (Madokoro) Saori, Enomoto Kazuko, Emi Kinuko, Kusama Yayoi, Tada Minami, Tanaka Atsuko, Tanaka Tazuko, Tabe Mitsuko, Fukushima Hideko, Miyawaki Aiko, Mōri Mami, and Yamazaki Tsuruko. taken in Hyogo Prefectural Art Museum by @coriready.world

As one of the final activities as Artists in Residence in Kobe, Japan @airk.kobe some of us from @newsunsnewsuns free experimental grad school joined a Japanese woodblock printing class with @konomi_honda. 🌈🌈🌈🌞🌞🌞🌞
We learned the fundamentals of traditional ukiyo-e techniques—carving, inking, and hand-pressing prints using carved wooden blocks. Each layer of color is applied separately, requiring precision which I didn’t know I had. But I did!
I made a delicate flower bouquet using tiny knives. We used lynden tree plywood to carve and the brushes were handmade with deers hair. Thanks Konomi and to our translator! by @coriready.world

At the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum we took a close look at the tools and materials behind sensational Japanese woodworking. 🪵🪾🪜🪑Exhibits are organized across multiple sections covering the evolution of tools, the role of master carpenters (daiku) and other stuff. 🌿🌱🌱🌱🍃
They highlight local tree materials and how different grains, densities, and finishes shape the final work. taken in Museum 美容室 by @coriready.world

We did a fun thing - learn to make Miso! Our friends have a company called Rice and Miso. @riceandmiso_for_goodfarming Miso is made through fermentation using soybeans, salt, water, and kōji (a culture grown on rice).

The rice and soybeans are farmed by Hiro and friends.

1. Soybeans are soaked, cooked, and mashed.
2. Kōji is mixed in to introduce the fermentation culture.
3. Salt is added to control microbial activity and preserve the paste.
4. The mixture is formed into balls, then firmly packed and pressed into containers to remove air.

We just made three flat containers of 25 kilos each. All winter, the Rice and Miso team has been gathering with friends every Friday to make and pack a total of 75 kilos of miso and chit chat. Work on arm muscles.

Once packed, the miso is left to ferment for a year. Shorter fermentation produces lighter, sweeter miso; longer fermentation creates darker, more intense and salty miso. It can continue to ferment at home for up to four years while you enjoy the miso paste in soup and rice and whatever.

Miso is a nutrient-dense paste rich in probiotics, amino acids, and umami. by @coriready.world
