Inspired by 1940's Abstract Expressionism and other art periods, Cornelia Arts Resident Jackie Roliardi works freely and spontaneously, allowing the content to literally find itself in the work through the use of a variety of tools and techniques.

Cornelia Arts resident Jackie Roliardi is inspired by Abstract Expressionism and Bay Area Figurative painters from the 1940s through 1960s. According to the artist, each piece involves intricate layering of paint and transparent glazes, with an eventual focus on the design elements of color, value, texture, line and shape in relationship to each other, and to the whole composition.

Check more of her work and the work of other resident artists at The Cornelia Arts Building website.
