The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh is an extraordinary program that transforms lives through love, opportunity, and empowerment. Last night, we heard powerful testimonials from people whose lives have been changed by its work.

I am deeply grateful to Executive Director Donta Green and his amazing staff for honoring my service and love for the beloved community. Thank you for the warmth you shared and for the life-changing work you do every day.

To my family and friends, thank you for always believing in me and supporting this mission. Your love and encouragement keep me moving forward.

We still have work to do! Together, we will continue building a community where every person has the opportunity to thrive. Special Shout out to my mentor Fr. Greg Boyle from Homeboy Industries. by @cornelljones10

Rev. @cornelljones10 was in the room years ago when Leon Ford and the officer who shot him first came face to face. He helped bring them together because they both respected him. Now serving the City of Pittsburgh, he joined us for the private viewing of The Weight of Forgiveness and watched that moment live again on stage.

“I was one of the people who was actually there, knowing both sides of the situation, and I think Leon did a great job.”

He called the play almost like a ministry, one that will travel the world showing the power of forgiveness, and a reminder of how big Leon’s heart is. Instead of turning the officer into a villain, Leon wrote both sides with honesty.

“I’m never speechless. But to be there and see this come forward right now...”

The Weight of Forgiveness takes the stage TOMORROW, September 16, at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Curtain at 7 PM.

We’re almost sold out. Grab your tickets through The Hear Foundation’s website. Link in bio.
