The real work starts BEFORE the headlines.

Meet Terri Minor Spencer, REACH Zone 6 Outreach. REACH is in Pittsburgh neighborhoods building relationships, showing up in hotspots, supporting families impacted by violence, connecting people to resources, and working every day to prevent the next tragedy before it happens.

This is what community work looks like.

Rev. @cornelljones10 was in the room years ago when Leon Ford and the officer who shot him first came face to face. He helped bring them together because they both respected him. Now serving the City of Pittsburgh, he joined us for the private viewing of The Weight of Forgiveness and watched that moment live again on stage.

“I was one of the people who was actually there, knowing both sides of the situation, and I think Leon did a great job.”

He called the play almost like a ministry, one that will travel the world showing the power of forgiveness, and a reminder of how big Leon’s heart is. Instead of turning the officer into a villain, Leon wrote both sides with honesty.

“I’m never speechless. But to be there and see this come forward right now...”

The Weight of Forgiveness takes the stage TOMORROW, September 16, at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Curtain at 7 PM.

We’re almost sold out. Grab your tickets through The Hear Foundation’s website. Link in bio.

THANK YOU‼️ THANK YOU‼️ THANK YOU‼️

To everyone who has supported Episode 1 of our first film endeavor, Life On Stage… The No More! Project by sharing it, watching it, sending us encouraging messages, and allowing the work to create bold, transparent conversations … BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU. 💜

STAY TUNED for 6 more episodes, 6 more “in your face” topics… LOTS more impactful dialogue and expression through the arts. Can we just take a moment to introduce you to… our “In-House Therapist” for this project. Dr. Toya Jones.
She is powerful, impactful, yet grounded, humble, and deeply connected to the realities of the African American community. She makes therapy feel accessible. Never overly clinical or out of reach. Her mission in these episodes was to have meaningful conversations about healing, understanding, and navigating the journey of trauma and restoration within the African American community. Here’s just a peek.

We had a great kickoff meeting with the City of Pittsburgh’s new Violence Prevention Specialists today.

We are thrilled that these leaders are bringing the value of their lived experiences to help us create a model for true community-based violence prevention for the health, safety and future of all of our neighbors.
