... yesterday in #CarValley (Modena IT)

P.s. I canNOT respect paddle shift.

I joined some diehard car fanatics for a tour of Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani #supercar factories/ateliers in #Modena, IT. These brief visits can only whet one's appetite, and the one location (maybe) worth the price of this tour was the Ferrari museum - check out the 2nd to last slide - didn't have time to sketch this. 😭 I did pick out the color of my Ferrari tho (metallic greige)...

a. Pagani Zonda. Even among Italians this guy is nuts. I do love a crazy wing. 1.6mm ballpoint, sketch standing up, paint in studio

b. #Ferrari F80 (2024) and 458 Speciale A (2014). Drew the F80 cuz the door was open/up, love it. Not a single straight line or right angle on any of these supercars. The seating position is unbelievably low to the ground. Ballpoint standing up, paint later

c. #Lamborghini 2014 Veneno, front and rear views. Love that wacky wing. Ballpoint standing up, paint later

Also in Car Valley - Maserati, Ducati... by @corneratanyspeed

An homage to Akira Nakai-san, famed modder of Toyota AE86's and Porsches

"With nothing more than an air saw in hand, Nakai cut into the Porsche's fenders, working fully freehand. The whole process of cutting one fender takes a matter of minutes. Massive carbon fiber wide-body fenders were fitted onto the Porsche, finished with rivets which he spaced by hand. The wide fenders were a wink to the 993 gt2 race cars of the 90s.

But the pièce de résistance was the colossal custom-made wing, a feature that could easily ruin lesser cars. Yet, Nakai's design somehow made it harmonize perfectly with the Porsche's aesthetic.

His journey began with a simple desire to build what he loved, for himself. Yet, in doing so, he inadvertently sparked a global fascination. He doesn’t care about aesthetic rules, or interact with hate he receives from Porsche purists. He masters the art of not giving a single fuck, and inspires others to do the same, while simultaneously delivering Porsche masterpieces week after week."

Outdoor cat Hoshi seems to like Lactaid milk judging from the cat hair in the bowl. Very skittish. Sorry cat it's all I have. by @corneratanyspeed

Only today did I realize that #osawapasadena is in fact a shrine to @peterhanstyle. His original art covers the walls. The owner graciously gave me a personal tour including the back room. Stupendous - as is the sushi bar. Probably the best sushi I've ever had. Masu Box of Hakkaisan LA Dodgers special edition. +3, perfect.

And I can't believe I missed his show at Gallery Nucleus 😭
