Back in January, I stepped away from a tech leadership role. No plan. Just a gut feeling I couldn’t ignore. Wake up and keep going.

Taking this time off as a sabbatical has been a blessing. I needed to get up every day, do hard things, be present for our almost 3-year-old daughter, push through our home renovation, and keep building Three Points Coffee into something real.

In February, I brought my wife @noelle.lau to CoRo for the first time on the roasting side. We roasted the Chelchele, Ethiopia together through @croptocup. I didn’t know where it would land. I just knew it was roasted with love and intention. That batch ended up being our submission for CoRo’s spring double blind cupping challenge. We walked away as one of three winners out of 22 Bay Area roasters alongside Flower Child Coffee and Hydrangea, two roasters doing incredible work. Chelchele, Ethiopia will be featured on CoRo Coffee Room’s spring menu starting 5/31.

None of this happens without the people around me. Jared, Joel and Bryan at @corocoffee, thank you for teaching me, working with me, and trusting me with the craft. @littlebuffalocoffee, you started all of this and you’ve been there every step of the way. To my former team and colleagues who became real friends, this one’s for you. @s.bassly @bellamaduro_ @mumblyg @vitorcbaggio ❤️💪

It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s okay to not know where you want to be in life. We all go through different things at different phases. If you’re unemployed, in transition, figuring out your next chapter, or just having a hard time, my DMs are open. And a bag of coffee is on me. No strings.

This is an open invite to everyone within the Bay Area to come out and receive a proper introduction to the people and coffees of Yellow Rooster! Our team is traveling from city to city in preparation for World of Coffee, along with our good friends from Sens Coffee, the co-fermentation specialists from Colombia.

We will be presenting a general overview of our offerings from Colombia and Peru — including regional and varietal-focused lots to experimental and co-fermentation lots.
