"Histoire de la Marquise-Marquis de Banneville" is a 17th century short story penned by a cross-dressing abbot, a feminist conteuse, and the inventor of the most famous Cinderella story of all time. In its era, it commented on cross-dressing and gender roles. But today, it reads as a fairly modern T4T romance, which a very happy ending for its transgender couple.

A recent English Translation of the tale is available from the Modern Language Association.

I used a huge mix of old artwork for this video: a lot of 17th century fashion plates, mostly from THE HISTORY OF COSTUME - INDEX by Braun & Schneider. Several of the portraits used for the main character are by Jacob Ferdinand Voet.

Part 2! What F*cked Up Fairy Tale are you based on your star sign? I've done my best to diagnose you with my immense knowledge of fairy tales (though admittedly newbie knowledge of astrology).

Libra: d'Aulnoy's "Finette Cendron"
