It started as a little girl’s dream...

From the early days of tutus and bows to the high-stakes ateliers in NYC, my life has been built around the architecture of a perfect garment. My education at FIT and my years in the luxury bridal industry taught me that every stitch holds a purpose.

But it wasn’t until I held my daughter that I realized my own dream could serve a new one. I saw the gap where functional yet beautiful pieces should be an option for mothers—I decided to build it myself.

If I’m being completely honest, turning 40 felt like a scary mountain to climb. I resisted it. But now that I’m standing at the top, I’ve realized something: this is exactly where I was meant to be. I am finally the person I always wanted to become.
In the last decade, I finished fashion school, we welcomed our miracle IVF baby, and I started my dream of designing maternity dresses and launching @cosettematernity. All of our roads that lead to motherhood look different, and I don’t take for granted getting to be a part of your unique journey—helping you feel like you again during this beautiful, transformative time.
Sitting here today in the Charlotte dress—the second dress I ever designed—feels like the ultimate full-circle moment. 8-year-old Emily was dreaming of this day, and 40-year-old Emily finally gets to live it. I spent years in luxury bridal, obsessing over the architecture of a gown—the way a garment should support, hold, and empower a woman on her most important day. When I became a mom, I realized that the “identity shift” of pregnancy deserved that same level of care.

I couldn’t find maternity wear that felt like me—so I took everything I learned about high-end fit to the NYC Garment District. This is the standard I felt was missing: maternity wear that is technically structured, comfortable, and actually pretty.

How to find your perfect Cosette fit 🤍

Navigating a changing body and growing belly can make finding the right size feel so tricky! As your bump grows and your silhouette shifts throughout pregnancy, taking quick, accurate measurements at home is the best way to shop with total confidence.

How to measure:

1️⃣ Bust: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level parallel to the floor.

2️⃣ Underbust: Measure around your ribcage directly beneath your bust where your bra band sits.

3️⃣ Waist / Bump: Gently wrap the tape around the fullest part of your belly. Keep the tape soft and level—don’t pull it tight!

4️⃣ Hips: Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom (low down, under your bump).

💡 Sizing Tip: Our garments are crafted from high-recovery, premium stretch fabrics designed to adapt with your changing silhouette. If you are between sizes or prefer a more tailored, snug fit, we recommend sizing down!
