Did you know: we can be in service to the 4 elements?

For example: we can clean up natural areas like the beaches, gather together to share heart and spirit, cocreate art, and raise awareness about the needs of the community, strategy and actions to support, and regenerate ourselves in the process

Thank you @ara.eden for the tremendously intentional and guided flow. Thank you to the ancestors for giving us to space to be. Thank you @syrissamaria for the magic. Thank you @la_reyna_diana for the continued artistic shamanism. Thank you to anyone else we missed.

May we continue to serve the elements and bring harmony to them.

About a year ago, some members of the Turtle Island Ecoversities reunited in Ohlone Territory, Crokett California with Cosmic Labyrinth Ecoversity for a small in-person gathering. They were joined by about 30 participants from over 10 different local projects hosting workshops, talks, live-performances, and activities. The gathering happened in Indy Rishi and Diana's backyard with sweet Saheb as the main cook.

"Free your shit, compost your mind" was one of the main slogans and composting metaphors of the gathering, as Crokett faces major problems with its septic system. The building of a pop-up composting toilet was an active intervention of this gathering, centering conversations around local sewage emergencies in a fun and playful manner.

Some of the activities included learning about the history of indigenous shellmound graveyards in the San Francisco Bay Area, eco-restoration interventions with CREEC, workshops around bioconstruction with adobe, decolonial mapping with the Ecoversities Alliance, embodied hydrologies, yoga, cultural food as medicine with locally sourced ingredients and cooked by participants of the gathering, sound healing journeys, health sovereignty, how to fight energy vampires, cooperative finance models, doughnut economics, playfulness involving local live musicians, dancing, and children becoming organically involved in the gathering activities.

“Focusing and platforming hyper local projects, having conversations that impact the daily lives of people of the territory, hands on labour in service of those projects. Partnering with people locally who are great at networking and building trust in the community. I learned that I love building things and finding solutions to challenges in last-minute situations. I love intergenerational, intercultural spaces. I really enjoy cooking for people and tending to background things versus facilitating and talking.” – sierra allen by @cosmiclabyrinth.world
