The Wisdom of the Body Medicine

***

An ode to this body
And to all bodies

***

Our vessel
Our carrier
The most precious gift we received the moment our souls chose to incarnate on this Earth:

A body

Something never to be taken for granted

It allows us to feel
To experience
To gather memories and write stories
To express ourselves, to dance,
to touch, to whisper,
to walk, to run, to jump

For years I have dedicated my life to understanding the body, my own, and those of others

Everything I share, everything I teach, comes from a deep fascination with this incredible living organism

Not only through books and formal study,
but through years of exploration and experimentation.

When I was 19, I broke my back

Perhaps that was also the beginning of everything

I dedicated myself to my own healing
To understanding pain
To understanding movement
To finding my way back into strength, freedom and power

And every injury that came afterwards (yes, I managed to break my neck and a finger along the way too) became another teacher

Another invitation to go deeper
To listen more carefully
To understand more

Because the body speaks

And I have learned that when we listen, it has an incredible amount to teach us

Whenever someone feels disconnected, heavy, lost in their mind, I often come back to the same invitation:

Come back to the body

Come back to movement

Come back to the Medicine that has been carrying you all along

Because sometimes the way back to ourselves
is not through thinking more

It is through feeling more

Moving
Breathing
Playing

Trust me,

we were always meant to play 🔥

Thank you to my teachers
@omarrondon81, @luciogallicchio and Micka for boxing 🥊
To my playing partners @nomades.acroyoga for the crazy stuff
To Master Bruno for Martial Arts
To @ailinsinha for 🏹
To @puntagris & @blissfaerie for the circus stage
To @trainingscamp_pisac for being my absolute favorite living room ❤️

🔥 THE ANCIENT ART OF FIRE CUPPING
Fire Cupping is a traditional therapeutic technique that uses heat to create suction inside glass cups.

By creating a decompressive force rather than applying direct pressure, Fire Cupping offers a unique approach to working with the fascial system, inviting the body to release tension, restore movement and experience a deeper sense of relaxation.

Fire Cupping is an integral part of my PhysioFlow Bodywork Training™, where we explore the meeting point between ancient healing techniques, modern physiotherapy and the art of therapeutic touch.

There is something deeply transformative in watching women step into boxing.
The first punches are hesitant. The body unsure. The voice silent.
And then something shifts.
The feet root. The eyes sharpen. The breath becomes audible.
Power awakens.

Boxing is not about aggression.
It’s about boundaries.
It’s about learning to stand your ground, to move forward without apology, to trust your strength.
Every punch says: I am here. I take space. I decide.

I started boxing when I was 18.
Full of rage at that time, it saved my mind to be able to reach that type of release.
I came back to it years later, and now I can’t let go.

Teaching boxing to women and training alongside them has been one of the most inspiring experiences of my life.
I witness fear turning into focus.
Doubt into precision.
Fragility into embodied confidence.

For me, boxing has been a reclamation.
Of my body.
Of my voice.
Of my right to be strong, fast, and powerful.

And when women train together, something ancient wakes up.
Not competition—sisterhood.
Not violence—clarity.
Not hardness—self-respect.

This is what it looks like when women come back into their power.
And I am endlessly inspired to be part of it. 🥊

Big thanks to my incredible boxing trainers along the way: @luciogallicchio from @boxingteamluganese, @omarrondon81 from @trainingscamp_pisac and Micka 🥊

Lately, I have been welcoming many patients carrying stories of old injuries that never fully healed, chronic pain, limited mobility, and traumas that have left their imprint on the muscular and skeletal systems.

People who, somewhere along the way, have become afraid to move, to explore, to fully inhabit this beautiful machine we call home.

When people ask me what I do, I often reply:

I study the story of a person through the memories imprinted in their body.

There is no universal formula. No single approach that works for everyone.

Every patient is a body project.
A unique landscape shaped by experiences, emotions, injuries, and memories.

Because you cannot separate the body from its emotional story.

Fear of pain can become one of the greatest obstacles to recovery. Trauma, whether physical or emotional, can change the way we move, breathe, and inhabit our bodies.

Every patient receives a thorough intake and my full attention. We explore posture, gait, movement patterns, and the history behind them.

But as we work together, I also get to know the person living inside that body.

Through hands-on therapy, movement retraining, careful observation, openness, and empathy, we begin to rebuild what has been lost.

This is why I choose to work with no more than four patients a month.

Because those who work with me receive my full presence, attention, and commitment.

I believe healing grows through trust, understanding, genuine human connection, and care.

My greatest success is not simply seeing someone move without pain.

It is watching someone fall in love with their body again.

Watching them rediscover confidence, freedom, and the joy of movement.

Watching them learn to trust the very body they had once become afraid of.

To every person who allows me to be part of their journey: thank you.

Thank you for your stories.
Thank you for your vulnerability.
Thank you for the trust you place in my hands.

And thank you to Spirit for gifting me this extraordinary love for bodies, their stories, and the endless beauty of human movement.

Pain tells us where something hurts — but not always where the problem begins.

Someone may come to you with lower back pain, but effective rehabilitation requires us to look beyond the painful area.

How does this person stand?
How do they move?
How are the pelvis, hips, spine and feet interacting?
Which muscles are overworking — and which ones are not doing their job efficiently?

As therapists, we need to understand the body as an interconnected system.

Assessment allows us to identify dysfunctional movement patterns, altered biomechanics and muscular imbalances — and rehabilitation allows us to actively work on them.

Sometimes that means strengthening.
Sometimes mobility.
Sometimes motor control and stability.
And often, it means working somewhere completely different from where the person feels the pain.

This is why rehabilitation is an essential part of bodywork.

In PhysioFlow Bodywork Training™, I teach you not only how to work with your hands, but how to observe, assess and understand the body in movement — so that your treatment becomes more specific, functional and individualized.

Because good bodywork isn’t only about asking:

“Where does it hurt?”

It’s about asking:

“Why is the body moving this way — and what does it need to function better?”

As I enter the final stretch of completing the first part of my body of work, my very first book, I find myself gaining profound insights along the way.

Yes, it is a book about adventures. About India, about Covid in India, about my solo motorbike journey from the south of the country all the way to the highest peaks of the Himalayas and back.

But it is also a book about abuse, violence, and some of the darkest moments of my life, experienced at the hands of a man.
It is the story of a chapter that changed the course of my life, and how I survived it just by tuning into resilience.

One that eventually forced me to confront some of the deepest wounds rooted in my childhood and upbringing.

It brought me to seek professional therapy, before plant medicines and all the spiritual woo-woo, and to finally acknowledge that certain experiences fundamentally alter our relationship with pain, our tolerance for discomfort, and our capacity to recognize mistreatment for what it is.

As I write, many insights are resurfacing.
I find myself recognizing patterns I thought I had already overcome, only to discover that some of them are still there, still deeply ingrained in the way I relate to myself, to others, and to love.
And sometimes, I wonder whether I will ever be able to let go of them completely.

Because wounds heal, but scars remain.

And healing is not always a linear journey toward a place where nothing can hurt us anymore. Sometimes, it is a lifelong process of recognizing the same patterns in different circumstances, meeting familiar challenges with a little more awareness, and slowly learning to respond in ways that no longer require us to abandon ourselves.

Perhaps moving on does not mean erasing what happened to us.
Perhaps it means learning, again and again, that what we once had to endure in order to survive is no longer what we have to accept in order to be loved.

To all the children who were never allowed to be children.

To those who grew up to become incredibly sensitive, deeply wounded, sometimes incredibly fucked up, yet extraordinarily empathetic and compassionate adults.

I see you. And this is for you.

WARNING: SENSITIVE CONTENT

If you are a (self aware) man, please try and listen 🙏🏼

Today’s post is deeply personal. It is also a declaration of why I finally feel ready to acknowledge and express the anger I carry toward men.

This is highly sensitive content, and I ask you to receive it with as much openness and compassion as you can.

I begin by sharing my experience of miscarriage and the lack of emotional support I felt from the man who shared that experience with me.

From there, I move into a much broader and more painful conversation about the ways women are mistreated, violated, and abused by men, and why we can no longer accept this as part of our reality.

I share stories of women around the world, alongside my own experiences of violati*n, r*pe, and violence at the hands of men throughout my life.

This is not an attack. It is an invitation to listen, to understand, and to take responsibility.

We desperately need men to open their eyes to what women are experiencing every single day. To understand where our anger comes from. To recognize why feminism continues to grow, why so many women are raising their voices, and why we are no longer willing to remain silent.

Our rage is born from generations of pain, injustice, and experiences that too often go unheard, unacknowledged, and unaddressed.

We cannot continue carrying this burden alone.

We need men to step in. To listen. To speak up. To challenge one another. To become part of the change rather than standing on the sidelines.

We are not asking you to defend yourselves. We are asking you to hear us.

But if you are one of those who immediately scream: ‘yes but not all men’, then you are part of the problem.

I landed on a random account. She has a million followers on TikTok.

I skimmed through her profile, loving her content, until I found a sad video: her, blowing out candles in front of the number 26.

The caption said something along the lines of: Time flies. Fucking hell, I’m getting old.

Nothing terrible. We’ve all had those thoughts, right?

Then I fell into the comment section, and my blood ran cold.

So.
Many.
Women.

Women?

Girls, really.

20 years old.
25 years old.
19, lol.

All expressing how afraid they are of growing old. How their birthday is coming up, and wow—what will it feel like to age?

My blood went from cold to boiling.

How ferocious is the war on womanhood that society has managed to turn the most normal, most inevitable, most incredible process of being alive into something women are taught to fear?

How powerful is this conditioning that VERY, INCREDIBLY YOUNG women are already mourning their youth while they are still living it?

We are taught to become attached to youth. To the power of cheap flirting. To the anesthesia of feeling pretty in the eyes of a horde of men who may not even appreciate us for who we are.

And perhaps there is a reason women are taught to fear becoming older.

Because with age, many women become harder to impress.

Harder to manipulate.

Less interested in being chosen.

AND THIS REPELS THE LOW-CLASS MEN-CHILDREN.

I feel a duty to tell the younger ones how INCREDIBLE it is to age.

Yes, it comes with challenges. Of course it does.

And yet.

An older woman can de-center men and make her own life her number-one project.

And yes, that can be threatening to a society that has benefited enormously from women being young, insecure, preoccupied with being desirable, and desperate to be chosen.

A woman who knows her worth outside of how desirable she is becomes much harder to control.

So maybe the question was never:

“How do I stay young?”

Maybe it should be:

“Who taught me to be afraid of becoming the woman I’m growing into?”

Let’s rage together, women.

A lot of people think that once you’ve learned a modality, you’re done.

You get the qualification. You learn the method. You practice it.

But when you work with bodies and people, one method will never be enough.

The more we learn, the more connections we begin to see.

This is at the heart of PhysioFlow Bodywork Training™: not teaching you to blindly follow another technique, but giving you a broader understanding of the body so you can observe, reason, adapt and work with the person in front of you.

A movement or yoga teacher with a deep understanding of biomechanics can turn a class into much more than a workout, it becomes an exploration of the body, its patterns, limitations and possibilities.

A massage therapist who understands rehabilitation can look beyond muscles and relaxation, supporting deeper structures and making touch part of a much more intentional treatment.

A physiotherapist who understands strength and conditioning has an entirely different toolbox for rehabilitation, using movement not only to recover function, but to build resilience.

My own relationship with the body started with classical massage (well… technically with my life-changing accident 😅).

Classical massage taught me that I love working through touch.

Chinese Medicine taught me to think beyond the conventional Western framework and consider different ways of understanding where pain and imbalance may come from.

Abhyanga gave me greater dexterity, sensitivity and fluidity in my hands.

Fire cupping led me deeper into the study of fascia and connective tissue.

Physiotherapy gave me the anatomy, biomechanics, pathology and clinical reasoning that completely changed the way I understood the body.

And later, as a Yoga Teacher, I was able to bring all of that knowledge into movement. Suddenly anatomy wasn’t something I had studied in a book. It was something I could see, feel, teach and explore.

Each discipline added another piece.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that the real value wasn’t in choosing one method.

It was in learning how to connect them.

Because the more you know, the more possibilities you have.
