The in-between years are such an interesting stage of parenting.

Our kids are becoming more independent. They’re doing more on their own. They’re ready for more responsibility…

…but they’re still kids.

One question I’ve been thinking about as we head into another school year is: **How do we stay connected without giving them more technology than they’re ready for?**

A recent Cosmo @cosmotogether survey found that **9 in 10 parents want their child to have access to a phone at school**, but what really stood out to me was that **77% of parents would prefer a device that offers connection without the distractions.**

That feels like the middle ground so many of us are looking for.

I don’t want my daughter distracted by social media, games, or endless notifications during the school day. I just want the peace of mind that we can reach each other if we need to.
